Played this game yesterday it looks alot alike ET:Quake Wars

played quite a bit today and yesterday, getting a solid fps now. Too bad the game is broken and boring atm. Bases are too easy to cap so noone defends. If one faction is steamrolling, the other factions start their own offensives on other continents where they can be guaranteed of much less opposition. End result is lots of driving around aimlessly, a small fight for at most 10-15 mins, then spawn camping for like 20 minutes while the base timers tick over.

Its not a fatal flaw I mean capturing was something they were fiddling with at the end of the beta and I hope they are planning to further refine it because its the only thing breaking what could be totally awesome.

buildable bases, harvestable resources, and ships for ocean battles all sound awesome.

Played a bit more just now, its laggy again for no good reason bleh, and again vanu was steamrolling us at one facility so my team just started spawning at another one, so hard to actually get an all out fight. I've also heard the certs rate is very bad, obv because they want your time and money and typically the no lifers have been defending it but really, im unemployed and I don't have the time for the kindof grind this game wants from you right now. Really struggling just to get 200 for c4 on one class. The amount of straight upgrades available also is ridiculous, so much for side-grades. Apparently its way more efficient to pretend you are playing metro and just sit in a meatgrinder fight than attack objectives. BF3 is somewhat guilty of the same but this game is all about grinding for score and capping bases, if the best way to get certs is to spawncamp people (which is also a sad necessity for base capping) then something is pretty badly wrong.

Really they need to make taking out the SCU a mandatory objective for base cap and make enemy spawn rooms restricted areas or something with the SCU down.

Had a good first session, playing on Woodman with some other mates on teamspeak. Spent about four hours fighting over and capturing one base then getting pushed back out of it. Seemed around 100+ people on each side, pretty epic and different to anything else I've played.
The UI is far from intuitive though and I'd have been completely fucked without teamspeak, even with it things seem totally chaotic and I keep getting lost and beyond following my squad and "shoot the mans" I don't have a clue where I should be going and keep managing to get lost.

I seem to have the tendency to end up where I'm either getting steamrolled or where bugger all happens. The possibilities the instant action system gives for hotdropping feel a bit weird.
But oh man, there's just so many things to do. I feel like I'm being somewhat decent at AA gunning and engineering, so that's where I'm sinking my certs right now.
The game could really benefit from lots and lots more organization. It often feels like people are spawning the next best vehicle and go off in a random direction. It almost physically pains me to see empty Sunderers and Galaxies driving off from a battle site (or the warp gate for that matter) when theres loads of people still standing around. None of them calling for transport, mind you. Then again, that might have something to do with people being crappy pilots (drivers are better usually, but just a tad).

People standing around at warpgate are usually either AFK or playing with certificates. I'm usually leading a squad now and it's pretty cool if people are following orders and are genuinely interested in teamplay. Still, played Vanu almost exlusively so far.

I wish developers would learn how to implement efficient patching. SMNC was horrible, BC2 and Battlefield 3 are gigantic too (but they only patch their game once every 2 years anyway lol), not everyone has Mamas internetspeed

just logged in, TR only hold their warp gate, NC are pushed back to their WG and a couple of zones around it, VR is dominating.
Spawned a mosquito, as soon as I left the spawn shield, VR fighters were waiting. Fucking ridiculous!

Nah, it swings so fast that within an hour or two it will have completely reversed. Also if one continent appears to be going badly you can bet its because most people have moved to another where your faction will be dominating the map.

which is why continents suck. You are constantly chasing the enemy around, theres almost never a really big clash anywhere. Hopefully they work on it, like continent locking I think is pretty essential primarily to force people to defend places.
