If we've got any old Planetside vets here you may be interested to learn that the euro server Werner is now being merged with Gemini (the US server). SOE have invited all old players back for free until the merge happens on August 25th. Sadly this looks like a "last stand" situation as the game has gone from five servers (admittedly with two always underpopulated) to three, to two, and finally to one.
I'm going to be reinstalling, I play under the name Twiggeh and play for t'mighty TR.
Come join in the win.

I played Planetside when it first released, and I can't remember my Sony account details to save my life Shame, the game was actually fun, but requires such a big population to be fun. |

heh yer im playing with unleashed at the moment, having great fun though there outfit is not for everyone, air mobile response unit, because we go round undoing ghost hacks, or if nothing happening we start causing trouble on other conts, where normal the first ones into most fights

Yay, haven't played Planetside since they changed the map layout and introduced big stompy robot suits. Still remember some epic (200ish a side) battles. Was in the OV (Octavian Vanguard) we spent most nights trying to capture whole continents on our own without the enemy noticing

Right, loaded Planetside last night, will be giving it a go tonight, if by some miracle they've saved my player details I'll be Faysal, if not I'll be Milli or Bystander playing as TR on Werner and trying to remember how the hell the game works (I think I last played in 2003).

Cool. I'll see if I can give it a whirl tonight.
If memory serves they did a culling of accounts that haven't logged in for a long time - though I do believe they are retrievable by talking to customer service.
I'll see if I can fit in a game tonight but it depends if my connection allows. :/

quick tip whiner is dead, so play gemmni till they merge the severs, pop locks are common though out the day and night on that sever

Got very frustrated last night, had the wrong skills for solo playing and died about 100 times (and killed 1 person and 1 plane). The most annoying thing is you have to wait 6 hours between deleting skills. That and the fact getting anywhere takes soooo long.
