Anyone else still playing?  The massive updates are a pain but the last one seems to of brought some welcome changes.

Never played nice with my PC. On the off chance I have the money to upgrade soon I'll jump in.

I put every setting to low and get at least 50 fps out of it. The game isn't as beautiful, but still good looking.

I am playing it a lot, BR 35 at the moment, but I'm on Ceres after Mallory was merged with it and won't be able to participate in the activities on Miller. Unless it becomes a regular scheduled 1-2 hour a week thing or something.

Just took part in the RPS vs PC Gamer Planetside 2 gathering/deathenating - was in a full platoon (and a bit) with everyone coordinating on mumble and it was glorious. Will definitely be playing more of this now!

I should keep my eye on that sort of stuff organised by PC Gamer etc. Shows the game at it's maximum potential rather than the usual style of bumbling around wandering what to do next.

Its not that bad anymore. They patched in alot of useful stuff to counter that, e.g. you now see on the map where big fights are held and theres now sorta a "daily achievement" of domianting a certain continent, so usually everyone goes to that place.

Id play it more if my fps wasnt so terrible during largescale fights, just sucks all the fun out of it.

Yeah - I was getting about 20 fps on an overclocked i7 920 during the big fights due to CPU bottlenecking. Not so cool

this is why noone plays planetside. Think i'm going to ahead with memory and gfx upgrade next but get ones that can go into a new machine, and aim for a new proc/mobo later in the year.

You can easily get FPS you need. I'm on 2500k and GTX 560, harly a powerhouse by todays standards. Yes I turned down a lot of stuff, but I'm usually in the range of 40-80 fps, which is playable just fine.

As usual, it's just the question of what you are willing to sacrifice for the FPS. The game still looks OK even with most of the stuff on low.

Oh yeah, I was banned for using or trying to use a 3rd party software. I have no idea what that is about.

560 here too. Ive been using some of the best FPS configs I can find. Also 40 fps isnt playable for me, mine dips to 29 in large fights. I need atleast 60 (or 50 if stable) in a shooter or my aiming sucks.

The game is more CPU demanding if you put it on low settings and more GPU demanding if on high settings. Both boil down to the same fps values for me.
