It's stupid that they're releasing versions without IE in it yeah, but does that mean that the non-E versions can uninstall IE too? That was the main concern, not that it wouldn't be bundled with it to begin with.
Hmm - interesting. I can only guess so? They have obviously removed any dependency for IE from Win 7 to allow it to be shipped without it so I presume it will work Ok. I'd find it amusing though if the microsoft website required IE to work though (as I know is the case with some websites with advanced functionality).
Due to the removal of Internet Explorer, European customers will not be able to upgrade their Vista installations and will have to perform clean installations of Windows 7. Microsoft has said that it may offer the option to install Internet Explorer via Windows Update.[citation needed]
Wow...so they are essentially punishing you for being european by having to do a clean install!
Professional has the following features over home:
XP Virtual Machine
Domain Join (for company networks)
Automatic Backup
Ultimate has the following extra features:
Bitlocker encryption
Ability to choose whatever language you like and switch between them
Although, looking at the microsoft website...
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/features/backup-and-restoreit says on the right hand side that "this feature comes with all editions of Windows 7"
It does say "Recover your data easily with automatic backup to your home and business network." so maybe only backing up to a network is possible in professional.
