LOL Nice one. Well I've done the dirty deed. I've just ordered Pro from PC world. When the price is that low, why not go pro? Now I've just got to sit back and wait for it to turn up. I suppose I'd better order a hard drive now Oh, and if you do got to PC world, don't print out a confirmation. Because they will also print out their entire vbloody terms and conditions as well. 9 feckin pages!

Go here and check the differences... Are they worth £50 !? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/compare-editionsRun many Windows XP productivity programs in Windows XP Mode. Everything up to date and Vista Ready will run anyway Connect to company networks easily and more securely with Domain Join. I doubt you run a Domain at home, this is for business use.... If you do then your a geek. Recover your data easily with automatic backup to your home and business network.Automatic backup sucks,. at least in Vista anyway. Best to get a better program or simply script it.

i don't currently but the chances are ill make my current setup an sbs 2003 then i can get everyone on the domain and install bandwidth limitation software. no more lagging for me in game . i have a piss poor internet connection by the way which is why that feature appeals to me so much. if one other person in the house even browses the net i get kicked from servers as of my ping. curse living so far from the exchange. im going from xp to win 7 btw i gave vista a wide birth.

Why do you need a domain though...? Surely some bandwidth optimization software will run within a workgroup.... And also sbs? sorry but wtf lol. I can't see how you need Exchange, ISA and SQL server running at home. Maybe only SQL if your a web developer, but this is better run on a standard server at least and running full SQL not the sbs version.... If its research and self training purposes, then I would seriously considering looking at the enterprise versions of such products to understand all functionality of such products and just learn what isnt available in sbs/standard, or better still obtain testout which offers enough simulation to get you through any ms exam.

BUMP
Question: Does Win7 offer to install parallel to an existing OS (XP) or does it have to be coerced?

I'm guessing that if you make 2 partitions, you can choose which one you would like to install Win7 to. Also, one thing I would like to point out is this: Since I bought Vista X64 when it first came out, I have never felt the need to revert to Windows XP, and I don't expect when I upgrade to Win7 to be any different. The only exception to this is perhaps if you run some very specific/outdated software or some very old/unsupported hardware.
