Got the job at asda, the interview was less an interview and more 'Can you work these shifts? Yes? Ok you got the job' It is working nights, so more money but obviously a bit unsocial (especially for gaming, but my internet is wank atm anyway). Have took it for now anyway because the NHS job will probably take weeks to respond after the interview because of the CRB check. Anyone worked nights before, whats it like? And thats like proper through the night btw (10pm-6am).
I used to do nights at ASDA, Prepare for your soul to be destroyed by the one hour CD of shitty pop music and adverts that's on loop and only changes once a season (You are going to HATE Christmas). Don't expect too much in the way of intelligent conversation from your co-workers either, I swear you lose a little bit of your soul every time you hear that stupid jingle.
On the upside they've changed the colour schemes since I worked there, you now get to wear fashionable black fleeces and shirts instead of fluorescent green accented with bright blue.
If you can, get the weekend shifts, when the store is closed you can bring in an MP3 player and gain sweet succour from the dreaded CD.
Not looking like I'll get a job in time for Xmas this year, but I had a policy mature which has netted me a few grand to pay off the overdraft and see me through.
Lots of travel for me this week, Have to go up to Sheffield and back for my Graduation Ceremony tommorow, load of hassle and expense IMO but parents insisted.Robe hire is a Rip-Off. My Gran died a couple of days ago too, so I'll be making my way up to Cumbria for the funeral at the weekend.
