The odd thing is that I only idled in the 1st week after the update, and apparently they could still tell. I've lost 11 items, although I THINK I have at least 1 of everything. The odd thing is that by looking at my backpack you can see the odd order that they have been removed (I have only deleted one item (the hat is in the pace of it) as you can see, they have removed items from positions that would make you think I achieved normally. Have they released how they could tell if an item was "idled"? |

I havn't idled since the update (when people were finding items a lot more regularly) - but they still found me out.
I would guess perhaps they can find out from their master server logs - which server the items were gained on and then just removed all items found on the idle server IP address. The only way to find that out though would be to run an idle server on another IP (that valve don't know about) and see if you lose all your items as a result?

I imagine another nice image would be a screenshot from L4D with our four heroes wearing halos  A biased point of view, true ... Can anybody confirm that the rate of hat dropping has increased as promised? |

Some people were using a 3rd party aplcation to gain hats/unlocks in the game without actually playing it. If you used this aplcation all the items you gained from using it were taken away from you. Everyone that didn't use it, got a halo (and a fair ammount of stick from the non-halo'd plaayers). |
