I liked Oblivion just for the world and wandering around in it, but hated the storyline. Not really that interested in the new one, but will keep an eye on it.
Hopefully they'll sort out their fucking engine too because, srsly, the faces in Oblivion were scary. Really, really, really scary...

I call it the pokerface engine, because it shows no emotion whatsoever.

They couldn't have come up with something more original than dragons awakening? See GW2 and WoW:Cataclysm.

Or Dragon Age, for that matter.
I'm hoping they're at least going to haul NPCs some way out of the uncanny valley for this one, lest I have more nightmares about living in a world of realdolls.

Not according to this. Howard wouldn't be drawn on many details about the game, but said the technology was derived from the engine that powered Fallout 3, albeit with significant modifications.
"Fallout 3 technically does a lot more than Oblivion. The new stuff is an even bigger jump from that," he said.
"I can say it is on the existing platforms, which we're really happy with. You almost feel like you have a new console when you see the game."

We can now confirm that the TES V: Skyrim engine is all-new. And it looks fantastic. This pretty much confirms it as a buy for me.

Start a conversation with some and they will act like someone would in real life, looking at you occasionally and walking around a bit What douches are you talking to in real life? Level-scaling: It is coming back
Does that mean monsters level up whenever you do - Oblivion style?

cooking/farming/mining/woodcutting/blacksmithing I understand including mining and blacksmithing to make weapons, not too sure about farming, cooking and woodcutting. I would rather have more factions and side-quests included than the ability to cut down trees.
