This is out now, I've been playing a bit though I have to say I suck pretty bad. I've been having a fun, but it's definitely a different pace to most FPS I've played. Will take some getting used to but I'm looking forward to getting used to it. Love the overall oppressive atmosphere and edginess. Not something you often feel in a multiplayer shooter.

The release is a bit buggy, but I haven't hit anything overwhelming.

I have it - been playing the singleplayer and finding it hard (well..I am playing it on hard so duh I suppose).

It's bugged out a couple of times - in the tutorial it became impossible for me to shoot some of the targets so I had to repeat it, and at one point on the campaign so far I couldn't respawn as another squadmate so iuno what happened there.

I'd say it's buggy, but no buggier than a Battlefield release. I have faith in Tripwire fixing the problems though. They're that kind of dev.

Really tempted to get this, used to play DoD:S competitively (actually was quite high up ^^) and Iv'e had a thing for WW2 shooters ever since - apart from COD.

Playing with the crew last night I felt like I was getting more of a handle on this and even managed to get some kills. Map awareness is pretty critical, as is the basic knowledge of what the enemy looks like (difficult to strat with, though getting easier now) The spawn times are quite long, but I find that the time between spawning and getting into combat is much shorter than I'm used to. Would be cool to find a server where people used more of the comms because it's really easy to get flanked...

Looking forward to trying the combined arms maps and for the community to mature a bit so that machine guns actually get used properly. The game is very fun anyway, no game since Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter has really given me that kind of "Oh shit they're shooting at me" panic feeling.

Fun games on this last night, everyone showed strong sack and we died gloriously. Haven't stayed up till 2 am playing computer games for a LONG time.

Tanks = wtf?!? Didn't quite understand how the tank positions / roles worked - I was the commander but for some reason I could also drive and shoot the gun.

Oh well - we killed another tank and got some infantry kills so it was fun.

With much hilarity as I point out to disco there's a tank directly behind that smoke, mark the target (although that seemingly doesn't do anything), and then have to go 'up a bit, left a bit, right a bit' over mumble to get him to shoot it.

i think when you mark the target a line appears on the "clock" diagram on the bottom left?

i got a red diamond on the clock that was no help at all. and deadly you can move and shoot the tank as commander when ais are in those positions. Some of the new maps are full on tank squadron battles where everyone has to solo a tank.

ALright, I'll try and play tonight. Had another great game last night, starting to get the hang of scoring, managed to get "Most effective player" once. The game barely rewards random kills, but heavily rewards kills that are done in objective zones, against enemies in objective zones, or kills when you're near your squad leader. I hope that this is a game where all the "squad based play" stuff that lots of games hint at actually functions.

After navigating Punkbuster and my shit connection I did manage to get some running around in. In 5 glorious minutes I beat up a sniper, shot someone in the foot and ran away until they bled to death, and scored a ridiculous headshot defending our objective and attacking theirs which got me so many points that the game crashed. Good times.
