I played the demo and actually really enjoyed it. It's nothing amazing or different but then it never claimed to be. Its that kind of Serious Sam/Painkiller kind of vibe to it (ie, mowing down hoards with silly OP weapons), will probably get it now tbh, wasn't sure before.

Finally played the demo of this.. was pretty short (Like what? 7 minutes of gameplay? Difficult to really call it. Didn't feel particularly sold on the concept. It was pretty much exactly how I thought it would be, where the enemies are all very easy to kill and you have to try to make your own fun by throwing them around. I couldn't really work out any of the skill shots other than.. launch the guy into the air and shoot him or, kick the guy into something.
I think it'll definitely be worth a budget purchase.

Just read some reviews and the consensus seems to be that its a good, competant shooter that gets exponentially more fun the more you play with the skillshot system. It's possible to play through with the basic gun just headshotting bitches, but it's boring and repetative and unrewarding if you don't play the game within its own ruleset. It's also short, estimates are between 7 - 9 hours single player but has a couple of co-op multiplayer modes which also sounds pretty fun, there's a high score mode (highest score after a certain time wins) or a hoard type mode where you move on to the next area by getting to a set score.
From what I've read/played so far I'm really liking the look of it and will probably end up getting it on Friday.
edit - Also, over 4 reviews, all on PC theres been no reports of any bugs so far, which is pretty nice too.

Yeah, whatever happens, the tech behind it is rock solid, handled by people who understand it well so bugs/instability should be minimal.

My only slight concern is that all the reviews I've read have been done in house at Epic on their machines, but like you said UE3 is as old as the sun now and there shouldn't really be that many major bugs.
