Things are getting out of hand at work.

Next Wednesday, the borough is going to hold a Mental Health Wellbeing Marketplace (lots of providers advertising their services basically). However, currently there is no entertainment arranged to make it more of an Event. We were discussing this at our Providers' Forum.

Well of course I had to go say that I knew someone at work who might be able to get hold of some Namibian Bushmen. It was just a casual passing remark such as anyone might make but before I knew it, it's now been minuted and e-mailed to all the Day Centre providers in Southwark by the Projects Commissioner who is also under the impression that these Bushmen are actually part of our Business, but we're Housing and Support not indigenous peoples. I don't know.

It was also e-mailed to our Area Business Manager (my line manager) who has now got all excited and impressed at my creativity and access to unexpected resources and told the Internal Communications Manager who wants to ring me in the morning to talk about the Event and presumably the Bushmen so it can all go out in our Organisation Newsletter.

But my work colleague might not even be on shift for the rest of the week and I'll be in Turkey after that, during the Event too. He may not be able to contact them. I don't have a supply of Bushmen Singers that I can just pull out from my sleeve, I'm a Manager. It may end in disappointment for everyone.

I think there are probably lessons to be learnt here. You just can't say anything these days without someone picking up on it.

(there were also plans for an Old People's Choir to sing Wartime Classics, all they knew, but they fell through, they don't do Wednesdays)

I keep meaning to post updates to my enthralling life story but just seem to be so busy.

I may get round to telling you about the truth about Sarah Beeney's latest TV series or how Jason King (google him), Dr Evil and a picture of me in stocks very nearly got everyone in the branch fired by our Scandinavian overlords.

Oh yes, there's vomit, lots and lots of vomit.  And a bunk bed.
