Just got back from seeing PJ Harvey at the Royal Albert Hall (very respectable for me, I think the last gig I went to I spent in a mosh pit though it was a while ago

)
Anyhow, it was totally transporting. She has such an amazing voice and is a consummate musician. Great stage presence. She was wearing this enormous black hat with great black feathers in it. Brilliant. She hardly spoke throughout, just played and sang.
I was lucky to get the ticket. I'd only found out about it because my friends were talking about it on Twitter saying it was sold out (don't tend to use Facebook, irritating, crap S/N ratio). As usual I'd missed all the announcements so I thought that was that, but then my friend said he'd bought two tickets but he thought his friend wasn't that interested. His friend wasn't so, huzzah, ticket for me! Expensive but worth it.
It amused me on the way there. Coming up to the Albert Hall, we weren't sure which way to turn so my friend got out his iPhone to check it up on an App. Then I looked and there, to our left was the Albert Hall.
"No, let me check on my App", he said
"You don't have to, it's there" Pointing.
"No, I need to check, wait"
"Look, it's there, that dirty great building with all the people going in!!!!"
We are getting so dependent on our apps, our GPS's and our mobiles
