I believe lying like hell on your CV is always a good option.

The problem is there just aren't that many jobs around at the moment and extra IT staff are seen as a bit of a luxury.

So in my never ending struggle to get a job in IT, I've come to the conclusion that i need to get some qualifications to back up my applications. So found a few courses, some at discounted prices offering varying qualifications, however not sure which ones to go for as I don't really now if some of them are even considered by employers.
Main one I've seen at a good price is a compTIA course that covers A+, N+ and S+. Alternatively there are some Microsoft based ones (albeit a lot more expensive). So I'm thinking of doing the compTIA one, but just concerned I'll do it and find that nobody gives a shit about it.

Anyone in IT, thoughts?

Experience trumps qualifications, even my degree (Computer Networks) was basically toilet paper when it came to finding a job, and I even had 18months work experience in IT to pile on top of that at the time ... but you needed 3 years minimum for anything paying a decent amount so I ended up settling for a pretty low paid position to get my experience up to the magic number.  The qualifications that will set you up are a CCNA and an MCSA, by no means a walk in the park to get them though, probably the best part of a year if you're also working full time.  I'd start with the MCSA, it covers the most useful principals and nework tools for an entry level tech in a Microsoft environment (90%) and comes in three parts so you can start mentioning it in interviews/CV's sooner.

Even for some kindof systems admin position though you can still do a "portfolio" of a kinda. Setup some servers or websites or something, and manage them (Ferret Lovers Forum. lol?). Its something they can see online with your name on (somewhere hopefully), and demonstrates a bit of extra experience + motivation over someone else with just say the MCSA qualification.

Well, I did go for the compTIA for now, purely cos it covers mostly everything in terms of entry level knowledge. Reckon I could bust it out in a couple of weeks or so, then can go on to other things if necessary. oh and zarf, I'm already shooting for crappy entry level jobs, but dont even get an interview, and I wouldn't say my CV/covering letters are bad

Bought an Acer Icnoia a110 tablet just before christmas, pretty much wanted a Tegra 3 tablet, was also a total bargain. Unlike the Nexus 7, it's been problematic to get into root and recovery wise. It's also got a lot less community support.

Long story short, in the past week root was achieved, but there was no flashable CWM because of mounting problems.

I got my geek on, and in the past two nights released the first flashable CWM for android 4.1.1/4.1.2 with mounting problems solved and the first two custom rooted ROMs for the a110, even if they are based from stock.

Why, just yesterday I transmitted some pictures over Digital Video Interface from my Graphics Processing Unit made by Advanced Micro Devices to my Display device. They were previously generated by my Personal Computer's Central Processing Unit and stored in Random Access Memory; I think it even used data from a File Allocation Table partition of the Hard Disk Drive which is connected via Serial Advanced Technology Attachment. I controlled this process with peripherals attached to the Universal Serial Bus.
