Things are getting interesting at work, had the branch manager of Ramsgate rang up and thank me for working there for 2 days and practically beg me to work at his branch which was flattering, all I did was sell a few bits, mostly to people I already knew from my previous job. I'm very tempted to go too, despite one of my colleagues nick naming it Mordor, it having had a succession of useless managers and clueless staff. A few years ago it used to be successful branch, now there's lots of empty workstations and only 2 full time staff and 2 part timers, one of whom I was warned not to leave alone with the computer or customers, he needing constant supervision in case of major cock up. I though this was exaggeration until I watched him work, despite him being in his 60s it was like working with my 2 year old.
The case for is good, for a start I'd save £200 a month on petrol and save an hour and a half a day travelling. I'd have the challenge of turning round a failing branch, a probable promotion and pay rise (I'd do it for what I get now) and I'd have customers whom I spent 4 years building up a good sales relationship with.
There is also a big branch reorganisation where the showroom and trade operations are being combined and the trade side is going from a joint commission scheme to an individual commission scheme. I can foresee a rough few months at my current branch where everyone fights for sales.
On the downside there are only 2 years left to run on the branch's lease and I would be leaving one of the more successful branches.
Oh well I'll find out more in the new year.
On a different note I have only 3 and half days left to work this year due to the use it or loose it policy. I just need to take £9900 in those 3 days to hit my target. Must remember to take holiday next year when those targets will actually mean something.

Well my day was kinda lame to start off with (I was hung over to the max)
But last week I played an awesome prank on Glen!
We have (had) a warehouse chocolate calender thing, Times was good
Glen kinda "took" over the calender by eating and opening all the doors you know sick shit like that
So when Glen went on his lunch I put myself to work....
Using all the tools at my disposal I opened the bottom of the calender
slid the try out
proceeded to stuff my fat face with the sweet sweet chocolate
stuck troll faces onto the try
slide tray back in
Using industrial strength glue to seal that mother flipper up
sat back and enjoyed watching glen opened a flap and INSTANTLY raged and proceeded to throw it onto the floor and me keeping a straight face asked "Problem?"
after I got the thirst for work place trolling I carried on by graffing taping up Sam's fag packet and just wrote Problem on it
And finally before I left work today I got a troll face and taped it to the under belly of Glens mouse
Update tomorrow!

Pretty much the same thing for me - I was told I have to make something (one of our products) better before I leave and I finished that yesterday (it was like 5 weeks of work) so now I have 2 days left of work until I leave (for 2 weeks off and then starting my new job) and I'm not really sure if there's anything I should be doing.

Almost the same here.
Done all my Engineering Drawings for the year. Done my checks for the day and I've still got six hours of this to go. :\

I wish I was in the sort of job that wound down for Christmas. Mine never really stops either and I'm on-call over Christmas too.
Fingers crossed for no Christmas Day emergencies.
(though one Christmas on-call my only 'emergency' was two members of staff arguing over how to cook the turkey...wasn't happy)

Cooking a Turkey? Stuff it; throw it in the oven; shove a lemon ups it's arse. Done? EDIT: Admit it, you'd buy my cooking book.

Well I definitely use 2 out of 3 of those "techniques" quite regularly, and I don't cook ladies and gents. Allow your imaginations to wander

Saw The Hobbit last night. Was brilliant, definitely better than the book and despite being 2 and a half hours didn't feel overlong. Bring on the next 2 - quick.
Edit: Also bought my wife's separate Christmas and birthday pressies (her birthday is on the 24th Dec) they include a 5kg bar of chocolate (a large Galaxy bar is 200g). Haven't got a clue where to get birthday wrapping paper though, it seems no-one is meant to have a birthday in December.
