Interesting event during last night's game of LoL.

It was during the final game, about 1ish in the morning, maybe later. Then someone knocked on the door. Since it was so late I didn't answer it but whoever it was kept on knocking so eventually I had to go and see what was going on. I thought it might be next door though they have been told that if they ever knock and it's obvious I'm in but don't answer then I'm gaming and in the middle of a match or something and will get to them as soon as I can.

Anyhow, I asked whoever it was what they wanted and it turned out to be a chap, quite nicely spoken actually.

First he announced he was Ken (or something like that, some not very memorable name) from four doors down. Now in my experience, when neighbours call they usually identify themselves by their house number. Hmmm, I thought, vague, I can't identify which house is four doors down especially as some are flats. Maybe giving a number would be too risky, I might be able to clearly identify him as bogus if I did know the occupants.

He then said he lived with Clare (or something like that, some not very memorable name). Tick one I thought, he mentions female partner...makes him sound 'safe'. He then gave the impression that of course we'd met at some point and that I remembered him. The temptation was to vaguely agree and be drawn in, to disagree would be faintly rude (like admitting you've forgotten someone's name at a party or at work)....he did this quite well. I told him that I had absolutely no idea who he was (though being British I apologised about this).

He then went into some long story about coming off a 12 hour shift (awwww), a car in a garage, his mother (tick two...he has a mother, makes him sound 'safe'), £26 (ah hah), everyone out, apologies about the late hour and goodness knows what.

Through all this, couldn't work out what he wanted. I offered to put a phone through the letterbox if he needed to make a phonecall (my crap workphone) which was ignored. In the end I just said that he couldn't expect anyone to open their door at that hour whoever he was, no way would I be opening the door, and directed him to the nearest 24hour shop.

He then went.

As I said, interesting, and interesting listening to what he was saying to try and persuade me (such games). And I really can't imagine anyone opening their door unless there was a whole team of rugby players or something living there!

(I also wasn't best pleased about his nonsense interrupting the game)

Ppl like that always try to hustle you for a bogus amount like 26 because they know u dun have it in exxac change and mite just give them 30 2 get rid. neva had one hustle at the front door though that's serioussssssly messed up.

Get a samurai sword. Poke said sword through letterbox. Swipe furiously. Worse case scenario your neighbour might not speak to you again. ( possible police interference). In fact it's starting to sound like a bad idea.......

Put my car in for a service as the service light was on and it was 850 miles overdue. Got a call just now and there's a lot of stuff that needs replacing... bill could be as high as £700

I did know that quite a lot of it needed doing as they were advisories on the MOT in March but still...wasn't expecting it to be that bad!

They did say they'd chuck in some stuff for free (tracking & brake fluid change) and they're a good garage but still wasn't quite expecting that much.

Has just gone 2 months at my new job and things are going really well. I don't know if i've been clear before now but they produce psycho-metric testing for businesses to aid their recruitment and after. Tis really interesting stuff and seems like a really cool company to work for. The workload can vary between non-stop phone calls and testing to dicking around on youtube and shooting each other with nerf guns. Such an all-round improvement from working in kitchen.

Sounds cool, definitly better than working in a kitchen.  Any tips for passing these tests?

There's nothing really to fail. The main one we do just outlines how you function in the work place and how you like to be given information/how you fit in a team/how to manage them etc

Didn't drive a brand new 3 series BMW today, it was surprisingly good - or would of been if I had driven it.

Also saw Lego Star Wars on TV, totally wasted on kids TV, they aren't going to get the in jokes and wanton disregard for the story timeline that makes it so funny.

the main thing about psycho tests is just try not to lie or think about your answers too much imo.
