Random level 1 sentrys + crits for their destruction. That's a good few crits.

Edit- Altfire does indeed move your sentry.
No new taunts on old weapons.

Got Frontier Justice, the Gunslinger and crafted the Southern Hospitality (Ambassador + Scrap Metal (thanks, Disco)).

Frontier Justice has the guitar taunt, which just smashes down with a guitar after playing it. Revenge crits require your sentry to have made kills or assists, as we thought, but can stack up insanely (not found a limit yet) once your sentry goes down.

The Gunslinger takes the *wrench* slot, not the pistol slot as advertised. It also has a kill taunt.
Also worth noting, if you build a normal sentry with the Wrench, then switch to the Gunslinger, your sentry stays up. And the Gunslinger can be used to repair and restock as normal. You just can't lay down any minis while your big sentry is still up.

The Southern Hospitality is a bit meh, you get a 20% fire damage vulnerability and no random crits. The only good part is 5 seconds of bleed damage.

Tomorrow, I shall endeavour to get the remaining 3 achievements I need for the Wrangler. I've seen it in action, and it reminds me of Portal's sentries. The shield is cool too.

Although it remains to be seen how they'll affect normal gameplay, I'm impressed with the items so far.

I have to say valve for me outdid their selves on this one. The new maps are good (considering I hate the current pl maps, for me to like one is alien!), pl_upward has beautiful scenery and Hightower also has much better design than pipeline. The wrangler has a totally different playing style and seems powerful if used right along with the gunslinger which also has a different playing style and could pair up well with the frontier justice. However considering the engineer is quite a unique class compared to the others, the unlocks is somewhat easier to make interesting, still, could of been worse.

I think valve delivered because they offered a different playing style which is the aim for the unlocks, previous updates were somewhat disappointing. I think some people took the minimalistic approach of presenting the new unlocks, along with the short time frame, which did make the update seem less but they made up for it, well except they executed the update with the golden wrenches horribly and I would not like to see this sort of thing again and they didn't add any hats!

This update does seem to be more in line with the medic/pyro updates in adding sidegrades as opposed to the more recent LOLSWORDS bullcrap which is a step BACK in the right direction IMO.

Only thing I'm slightly worried about is that I had a bit of a dickaround on tr_walkway trying to sort out my hud this morning and was only getting 30FPS with a highfps script...hopefully its just bad map optimisation and won't be a problem in the wider game.
