I liked the Bourne Identity book. Did you read the original version or the film adapted one? Because the film is only loosely based on the original book.
Extremely loosely.. no "Jackal"

Can't remember if I mentioned this before, but I just finished Patrick Rothfuss' The Name of the Wind and if you've ever read a fantasy novel and enjoyed it, I can't recommend it strongly enough. I particularly like that in the middle of a discussion of the mechanics of the magic of the world he still takes time to make sure the laws of thermodynamics remain intact, but maybe that's just the physicist in me.
Yeah, good book that.
I've also recently enjoyed Scott Lynch's 'Gentlemen Bastards' books, It's about a group of con artists in a Medieval fantasy setting. Brilliantly written stuff with some good humour.

Also recently read Peter Brett's The Desert Spear (sequel to Painted Man), Jack Campbells 'The Lost Fleet Book 7: Victorious' and David Webers 4th Safehold Book, 'A Mighty fortress'

Oh my god Cheesy the little mole with the poo on his head Cheesy
I read that when I was a kid as well.. it's well known here Cheesy

Awesome that you guys read xD lol
And I'll agree on the "I should say you should read Twilight but I won't actually say it"  thing.. .. shhhhh

Useless to come up with Dutch books here I assume, unless they've been translated. I think one of them has been translated.. I just don't know what the English title is, let me look it up
Love Life by Ray Kluun.. a story about a couple , the woman gets cancer and dies and the whole book is about their relationship during her illness..
But who am I talking to, I guess this is a girl thing Tongue.. First book that made me cry!

Any of you read Michael Critchton - Timeline ? =D
Or "The curious incident of the dog in the night time" that was awesome as well. ^^

I'm reading "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen at the moment. Really nice book. The style of writing is different to all the other book I read before (and I read a loooot of books)

After that I will start the "Vampire Diaries"-saga (Book 1-4). Yaaay, Vampires... loooove... and stuff.

Shut up Lully!

I did try, only managed to endure a few chapters though. I can't say it's the worst book in the world, but it's certainly the worst book I've ever tried to read. Crappy writing style, cliché plot, boring moany unlike-able protagonist.

Yeah, Eragon is pretty readable, if chock full of every fantasy trope there is. Still, was written by a Teen and better than anything I could do.

Finished the 3 main Foundation books by Asimov last week. Good reads although progressively get, well, not worse, just different. You can see how they were short stories and built upon.

Reading the synopsis and going of a comment from a friend, won't bother with the other prequels/sequels. I won't say why for fear of spoiling anything. Well worth a read, the main 3 though (Foundation, Empire & Foundation, Second Foundation).

I'm currently reading the manga Akira, which is really long in fact - but certainly is very fun and fast paced, while actually working in a really worthwhile sci-fi story.

I'm also reading a very impenetrable Iain M. Banks non-culture novel called The Algebraist. I'll see if it is any good, but man, the first few chapters are really, really uninviting...*shudder*

Yeah, Banks can be hard work sometimes (I've still got to finish Culture off)

If you're into Space Operas I like most of Peter F Hamiltons works. John Scalzi is decent (Old Mans War had a cameo in this weeks Stargate Universe!) I've also enjoyed Vernor Vinge and Nivens classic Ringworld.

Richard Morgan is awesome if you like a bit of cyberpunk in there too.

And Zarf I second Peter F Hamilton, I read his dreaming void books, they were great fun Smiley

I liked all the other Iain M. Banks novels apart from Feersum Endjinn which rubbed me the wrong way, but I highly recommend the much shorter and easy to read Player of Games for a good Culture introduction.

I'll look out for a few of them authors sometime though, still got Philip K. Dick stuff to read first Smiley
