Well, with the capitol religious building being, what Hindu or whatever it is (the blue icon) you just pump out that to everything - it gives +1 gold/city per turn, raking it in once you can get those people over borders - like in this case, to the Chinese. It really adds up later.

Looks like the games developing nicely, surely its time for war soon though, its got to be worth knocking someone out before gunpowder kicks in even if we just raze all the cities.

also might be worth adding a few specialists to Guiltstanbul to farm a few GP and keep its growth under control.

Turn 1 96AD
Taking over the world 150 turns in I survey our empire and it looks good, well defended and prosperous,  1 small complaint about the location of AmSterdam not being directly on a water tile we lose a lot of commerce and food not being able to build a harbor or lighthouse.

My main aims are to get Hinduism in all our cities (it is our “official” religion), found a few more cities, try to prevent war from breaking out with our neighbours, start looking for other continents and banish the barbarians from our borders.

I send our scout unit and galley to autoexplore.
I make a call on Washington (who is annoyed with us) and trade him Code of Laws for 90gp.  
I send all our spare units units to the barbarian city of Zhou to do a bit of ass kicking
I send the Settler kindly provided by AmS east to nick marble off Washington.
I change the research topic from Machinery to Horseback Riding

Turn 2

Guiltanbul builds Christian Temple, starts building Barracks
Final de Ville builds axemen, starts building Forge

I make a call on our Northern neighbors and do some trading to get into their good books and get some cash to keep our science rate up.
Traded Horseback Riding for Theology with Mao, Start researching Compass
Trade wheat with Napoleon for 1gp a turn and sold Monarchy for 170gp

Turn 3

Grin Fortress builds Christian Temple, starts building Forge

Founded Fragchester, start building Archer.

Upgraded 2 Chariots to Horse Archers

Turn 4
Bystandantine builds Market, starts building Hindu Missionary

Horse Archers set to autoexplore

Turn 5

Guiltanbul builds Barracks, starts building Hindu Missionary

Our swordsmen kill a barbarian archer, unfortunately not before they destroy our gems mine, bastards.

Turn 6

Bystandantine builds Hindu Missionary, starts building Forge

Have a nice talk with Washington and exchange world maps and pigs for deer, hardly world shaking stuff but it makes our closest neighbor cautious rather than annoyed with us.


Turn 7

Washington offers Fish for our wine, I agree

Discover Compass, start researching Machinery

Hinduisim is founded in Final de Ville

Turn 8
Washington turns up uninvited announcing that he wants to us to go wack Chinese with him, I tell him to bugger off and invade China on his own if he thinks he’s hard enough.  He is now back to being annoyed with us.

Milliville builds a Market, starts on a Harbor
Guiltanbul builds us a Hindu Missionary, starts on a Forge

Turn 9
A barbarian archer in the barbarian city of Zhou attacks and kills one of our horse archers, I take a gamble and attack the city with the 5 units that are assembled around the city to take advantage of the barbarian casualties.  I take the city only loosing 1 swordsman.  After much thought I decide to destroy the city as it positioned 1 square away from the coast.
 
Final de Ville builds a Forge, starts work on a Hindu Temple
Hinduism spreads to Grin Fortress

Chicago expands it’s borders, we loose our (unconnected) marble.  I kill half the population in Fragchester to rush an archer and start on a Library to expand our borders.

Turn 10
Washington calls us out of the blue offering us open borders I accept and he is now cautious again.
Milliville builds a Harbor and starts on a Forge.  We go from -3gp to +3gp per turn…. Wooohoooo.
Fragchester builds and Archer and starts on a culture heavy Library

I move all our “spare” units to Bystandantine to see the sights

Turn 11
Bystandantine builds a Forge, starts on a Settler

Turn 12
We discover Machinery and start researching Optics so we can build a caravel and explore the rest of the world
Final de Ville finishes Hindu Temple and starts on a Hindu Missonary
AmSterdam builds a Market and starts on a Hindu Temple

Turn 13
Guiltanbul builds a Forge, starts on Sistine Chaple, go Guiltanbul go!

Turn 14
Final de Ville builds a Hindu Missionary and starts on a…… Hindu Missionary

Turn 15
Exploring Horse Archer and Scout are attacked by barbarians, the Horse survives but the Scout dies … awwwww, poor ikkle scout.

Turn 16
Bystandantine produces a Settler and starts on a Harbor
Final de Ville builds a Hindu Missionary and starts on a Courthouse.  

I send the Hindu missionary to Beijing

Hinduism spreads to Fragchester

Turn 17
We discover Optics and start researching Feudalisim

AmSterdam builds a Hindu Temple and starts work on a Forge

Alarm fails to go off, the entire empire stays in bed.

Founded Elephant City (can you tell I’m running out of inspiration?)

Bystandantine builds a Caravel, starts work on a Settler
Milliville builds a Forge, starts work on a Courthouse
Final de Ville builds a Courthouse, starts work on a Settler
Fragchester builds a Library, starts work on a Granny

The Caravel heads West to places unknown

Turn 23

Discover Feudalism, start researching Drama

Change Civics, Vassalage so all new units get one extra promotion and Serfdom so engineers work twice as fast.

Turn 24
Hindu Missionary killed by a barbarian.  Bad barbarian.

Grin Fortress builds a Hindu Temple, starts on a Barracks
Fragchester’s borders expand, we get the marble back and Washington has kindly built a quarry for us.

Turn 25

Washington called, he is majorly pissed off and cancels one of our trade deals.
Drama is discovered, we start research on Civil Service so we can get Macemen.

A Great Engineer is born in London.  I put him to sleep until we need an instantwonder.  (Sistine Chapel is almost finished)

Turn 26

Washington called again, he is still majorly pissed off and cancels another one of our trade deals.  This does not bode well for our peaceful empire

Final de Ville builds a Settler and starts on a Market

I start moving our spare units to Fragchester

Turn 27
Gave Washington Currency to stave off imminent war until we have better units, he is now cautious towards us.

Turn 28
Bystandantine builds Settler, starts Lighthouse
AmSterdam finishes Forge, starts Barracks
Grin Fortress builds Barracks, starts Walls

Turn 29

Washington demands we go to war with China, I refuse, he is annoyed, I am pissed off, war seems inevitable as I’m not giving him more technology.

Grim Fortress builds Walls, starts on Catapult
Fragchester builds a Granny, starts a Barracks

Our Caravel finds land and barbarians to the West.

Turn 30

Bystandantine builds a Lighthouse, starts building Walls
Innuendo Founded, ummm…. because I had a spare settler, will only be useful when the borders expand.  Starts building Axemen, needs lots of worker love
Banhammer Founded, purely to stop AmSterdamn from being cut off.  Starts building Theater.



Notes
So that’s my turn, I’ve founded four cities, raised one and we’re on the brink of war with Washington.  We need more offensive units.  Once we do go to war against Washington let him exhaust his forces against our cities before counterattacking.

The Sistine Chapel will be built next turn.

We are about to run out of money and nearly all our units either need upgrading or will do when we discover Bureaucracy.  There are still a couple of barbarian cities to the north and I have totally failed to spread Hinduism outside our borders.

Keep sailing our Caravel West, if we make it around the world before anyone else we’ll get an extra movement point for our ships.

No doubt Finaldeath will of finished his go before I post this, it has taken me longer to write this report than it did to play it.

EDIT, I've just noticed that Hinduism hasn't spread to Milliville, something needs to be done about that plus reseaching Divine right will get us Islam plus we can build the Spiral Minaret... instantly with our great engineer.  That gives us gold for every Hindu building out there. Grin

Ok....so...my turns (sorry for the fairly brief report but I'm going home today so I don't have too much time)

1/2 - not much happened, lost open borders with someone, but I think they later wanted them back
3. divine right finished
4. built a load of cottages for some WONGA! set towns building macemen to improve our military
5. shared the world map with the chinese
6. not much
7. built a heroic epic
8. kicked some barbarian ass trying to take over AmSterdam and Elephant City
9. more kicking of asses and built a national epic
10. finished divine right so we founded ANOTHER religion (islam) and then researched engineering
11. founded the town of Samiston to the east, growth was slow so sent some workers over there
12. not much happened
13. kicked more barbarian ass
14-15. not much happened
16. researched/researching printing press
17-18. not much happened
19. caravel went west and found ze germans and we got another world wonder - the spiral minaret!
20. found the russians! (unfortunately napoleon managed to beat us to sailing around the world)
21. did some trading with the chinese
22. built the hagia sophia (another wonder!) and set on an aqueduct as the town was unhealthy
23. not much
24. entered the rennaissance era! woop! and also finished the printing press
25-26. not much happened
27. researched philosophy and then set about researching guilds
28. nothing
29. we got ourselves a second great person - didn't so anything with him...perhaps time for a golden era?
30. finished ANOTHER wonder Cheesy (versailles)

I built a lot of macemen so I think I might have doubled our military, built a load of wonders - tried not to upset anyone (not sure who we are going to take out first) and also managed to turn our bank balance around (~1000 coins / +30-40 a turn) and I finally founded a city to call my own Cheesy

I will pass it on to the next player now.

The tutorial is a godsend for learning Civ4 Smiley The expansions add a ton of weird stuff, it's best to learn the game using only the basic game.
