Yo! I have had it with my headset! It is about 7 years old(ish) and it is falling apart and the cable keeps pissing me off I need a wireless one with all the bells and whistles on if I am going to be spending the big bucks (which I am looking on doing as I got a bonus) So any ideas? What should I be looking for?

Can we move this to Technical so all techie questions can be kept in one place for reference?
Anyhow I don't know much about wireless. It was said that wired is best for gaming but I'm not sure if this is still the case.

I'd deffo recommend getting a separate set of high quality headphones and a mic, it generally works out cheaper and you can often get more "bang for your buck".
I have a set of Sennheiser 595 and a tie-clip mic I had for my dictaphone and both the build quality and audio quality on both are far superior to any headset of comparable price (plus it's cheaper to replace if you only break one component).
Something I've come to realise is that anything geared up for gamers is overpriced and if you can get the same item but for a non-gaming brand it'll be 25-50% cheaper.

This. kinda nsfw in some parts but this pretty much sums it up(dont mistake that first paragraph. Thats nothing to do with me judging this thread, I just see this image posted on 4chan everytime someone asks for headset advice haha) Also yeah "Gamer"-Gear is usually overpriced and has bad quality. Ive used up alot of Gamer-Headsets over the last few years. I recently got a mechanical keyboard from Raptor for 60 bucks less than the Black Widow from Razer and it does its job just as well.

Do they make non gamer wireless headsets + mics? And what would the point in a wireless headset with a wired mic be?
I honestly hated to hell having a separate mic and deeply enjoy having a wireless headset. Being able to get up, and clean the dishes between rounds in BF whilst still talking to Disco is a great pleasure.

Done. The only wireless headset I've ever owned ended up getting returned, but that was largely due to something in my house causing interference which manifested as a high volume, high pitch sound every 10 seconds.

If only chug had paid heed to those sounds, if only he'd studied them and discovered the prophecies hidden deep within the screaming noise. For they were the only warning we had of the approach of the Dark Ones.

desk mics are just a pain in the ass, which is the whole reason for getting a headset. Unless you like desk mics for some reason. I have some nice sennheisers i've had for about 2 years or something. Brahms gets a bit quiet at times on his wireless. I wouldn't both trying to get any quality from something wireless, get a low end wireless headset if you value walking around randomly with it on, or get a decent wired headset if you are more fussed about sound. Don't bother with a desk mic unless you like having to chase it around your desk all day. I guess if you had a boom mic though lol that could be interesting. http://www.djmmusic.com/Itemdesc.asp?ic=KM-25950&gclid=COXeva-OjLcCFZLKtAodLiEA-w

I have the same headset, so unless I get randomly silent too, that's his fault
