They are a lot less shady than facebook when it comes to privacy and the information google records is far from unique. I'd rather google had it in exchange for decent free software and reasonable ethics than one of the other companies.

So only thing missing is to send 'public' posts to specific lists only. Pretty sure you can share stuff via the recommend button to specific lists/friends via message - but atm you can't send a message to a list -.-
You can, it's just extremely inconvenient. When posting you need to click... "Lock" icon > Customise > These People > Specific People Then type in the names of the lists you want to share with. Way too much effort doing this every single time though. EDIT: Oh, also, it's possible to pseudo-invite people by tagging them in a post on Google+, just did so for claws, so if anyone else wants in post the email address associated with your Google account and I shall do the same. |

"Rumors suggest that Facebook has partnered with Skype to execute the new feature, which will compete with the new "Hangouts" video chat feature found on the newly launched Google+ social network. There are even whispers on the wind that Facebook could introduce group video chats, which Google+ also features."

facebook chat is a hideously bad chat protocol. Maybe with skypes help they might pull off video conference but I'm sceptical. Its been a long time since facebook didn't suck. They've even broken the android facebook app in the latest update. Maybe on purpose because they are getting really douchey with their attacks on google. They started a whisper campaign in Febrauary which lied about googles privacy policy in an attempt to move the spotlight off themselves. |
