I think the upgrade costs go 4-6-8-10. So 10 for Level 4.

Yep. On average it'll take a new level of markets one extra day to pay itself off per level, starting with 2 days for level 1.

How many? And shit, entangling might not have been a good idea. It's a stack of 115 now. I'll do some calculations, but I'm pretty sure we have to abandon the city  Edit: Hmm, if a defending army dies, will the second army stationed there get the fortification bonus to kill of the rest of the attackers? Otherwise: I doubt anybody can borrow me 30 greens? Then I could reinforce the treeman and hold the city. 'cause my next taxroll happens at the exact same second the enemy army arrives.

Is that so Brahms? I never noticed that and all battles I calculated assuming that both armies receive the bonus (after the first one gets killed) worked out just how I expected it.

Well, it would be kinda logical. The attackers should only have to break past a defending wall once. Once they're inside, they're not going to destroy one army, go back outside, then fight past the defences again.
