So, after finding out my local cinema did limited screenings of Senna I did manage to pop along on Tuesday night and watch it. I must admit it's a really well made piece. It's all done with TV footage and home video so the narrative isn't from some guy doing a voice over in the studio but instead it's what you see on the screen - like you're reliving some of Senna's biggest moments there and then. The music helps quite a lot as well. A good example of what I mean is this bit where Senna and Prost came together at the start of the '90 Japanese GP which decided the title. No, narration over any of it, just the pictures and the commentary from the footage and an interview after the incident which was taken on the day. It does show enough F1 footage to keep the niche crowd enthused but also the struggles Senna had politically within the sport make an interesting side-story. There were a couple of technicalities that cause a bit of nerd rage but nothing too obvious. :3 |

Watched "The Expendables". I would recommend it the same way I recommend movies such as "Jackass" etc.: Know what youre getting (an EXTREMELY dumb yet very entertaining menshoot-flick) and you'll enjoy it. A shame Stone Cold didnt do a Stunner tough :/
And whats the matter with Stallone? Is he trying to look like a 90's DeNiro now?

Ive been in a warmovie-mood lately (guess thats connected with my excitement for BF3) so I watched "Three Kings" tonight. It was very good and definitely a very unique "war"movie. I dont really know what its trying to be, its very serious at some parts so its not really a comedy, but then some of the stuff that happens in the movie is so ridicolous and over the top so its not really a serious warmovie. Its a mixture of both and works quite well in my opinion, people have been comparing it to the story of Bad Company 1 alot when that game came out and I can see the connection now, its 4 dudes deserting their army to pursue their own goal but by doing that they get into alot of trouble. Id recommend watching it! (I also still think that Ice Cube was a pretty good actor in the 90s). "Jarhead" is next. |

Watched "hesher" last night. It was a substance film festival winner I think. Was really well written and actors were pretty decent
