I enjoyed Source Code too, great and entertaining film, not overburdened by action or anything. I'm definitely going to hope Duncan Jones does some other good films (while it wasn't as inventive or brilliant as Moon it was still great compared to a lot of tosh I've seen).

Watched Hurt Locker for the 2nd time. I still dont think it deserved the oscar for best picture 09. Its far too "MERRICA FUCK YEAH" and all the plottwists (or whenpeopledie-moments) are sooooo obvious, it feels like youre in a Call of Duty-campaign or some sort. That being said its still a good movie. The progress of characters and atmosphere throughout the 2 hours is really impressive.

agreed, hate me but i think they gave it because the director was a woman (yeah, i know, right?) and they had been ignoring that 50% of the population for too long. politics have far too much say in the academy awards. in fact there is just too much wrong with that institution anyway

Well I usually agree with the results but theres some major flaws in it meaning that you just need to bring up a sensible topic in your movie and youre top of the list (same with LA Crash 2005). There were so many better movies in 09, I personally rooted for Inglorious Basterds, hell even Up would have deserved it more than this standard military flick.

bring up a sensible topic
make a film about the holocaust and you're in the running. hell even uwe boll could make a film about Auschwitz less sensitive than a two fisted rectal exam and STILL be in the running.

Best actor oscars are the worst, people get them when it's "their time" to win. Often not getting it for their best performance.

The Ayrton Senna movie, just titled "Senna", went on general release yesterday. Checked the cinema listings and the nearest Cinema, at the moment, is in Ellsmere Port which is quite a drive away. Hopefully a cinema a bit nearer will be showing it soon.

Watched X-Man First Class the other night and I quite like it. I love the "here is how it is supposed to end, how do you get there" writing experiments and I think they got to the end quite nicely. I hate the guy who plays ProfX, but the Magneto actor is pretty awesome in this. Also Wolverine gets mad money for a 5 second appearence.

I also enjoyed that film and also didn't like Prof X. And the Wolverine bit reminded me of this

Went to see the Hangover 2 the other day. Was alright, pretty much a copy paste of the first one, so if you enjoyed that you won't be disappointed. What left more of an impression on me was this trailer. Dunno if the film is going to be any good, but in a cinema, this trailer's intense.
