Try turning graphics to fancy and fog down a little. No matter how good your pc is, if you crash try it.

To get rid of the minecarts you need to export the game files into a singleplayer game then delete them and import it back again.

brahms i just logged on today. All our chests are fine but the furnaces screwed up and all my coal got deleted. Which is a bit weird never happened to me in my house. Also the tree hasn't grown but i got some more saplings anyway

If you're looking to destroy all the minecarts, I have a load stashed in an underground mine, which is insanely deep beneath the ground. It's built absoloutely miles away from anything else, and is accessed by a stone bridge leading onto a wooden jetty into the caves.
