Same. The first game was genius, and Deus Ex 2 was a bit pants They lost the magic on the sequel, let's hope they can get it back for the 3rd! *EDIT* The trailer hints at a good story and those scenes look amazingly good too!

I like to call it "Dark Knight" syndrome...

It's not his original voice, obviously. He's been modded with a "Smoker lung cool voice" aug.

Loved DX1 probably more than any other single player game.
For me, it's pretty much impossible to top it, or come near it, so they'd have to absolutely work wonders with this.

^^ This. However, 2027 feels a bit ridiculous at this point, no Warren Spector (although hopefully no Harvey Thingymajig either to ruin it), game spent ages in development hell, still not showing anything in action, and the first game wasn't about being a total badass...non-lethal takedowns anyone? Also, I don't think there's been any technical improvements in non-linear gameplay - quite the opposite - and so I doubt they can get near the original either. But fingers crossed.

We all know it's not going to be good but we're incapable of coming to terms with it.

From what I read in the PCG mag, the guy who went to see it (who is a dues eX fanatic) thought that it was good and stood a chance. So TBH I'm actually pretty hopeful.

If it is *anything* close to the original Deus Ex, you won't see me for dust when it comes out

Still haven't got around to the first one; every time something new comes out Deus Ex gets kicked to the bottom of the pile .
