if you put that aside I think it could have been a good game.
This is the problem - all of their games sound fantastic on paper but end up poorly executed due to apparent rushing, after which the dev promptly announces an exciting new concept which they then poorly execute. Repeat until your audience gets tired of your bullshit, which turns out to be about 3 times.
MNC: weird class balance, couldn't decide if it wanted to be a MOBA or TF2 and ended up playing like a watered down version of both
SMNC: nonexistent matchmaking, tried to pull LoL's business model except worse, beaten in all regards by SMITE (which considering Hi-Rez is the poster boy of rushed, unsupported games is saying a lot)
PA: performance issues, rubbish end game balancing, buggy always online DRM
And yet, all three are great ideas and could have turned out brilliantly with a bit more support in balancing; the irony is that that's exactly what they're doing with PA now. If they'd waited three months for PA to be sorted out and then made some noise about it aka Rome 2's Emperor edition, they'd probably have a far better chance of being funded.
