Seeing as the T-Regs need permission from Chaos to do anything I'm making a world cup thread. First discussion point, England's outlined squad:

Goalkeepers: Joe Hart, David James, Robert Green.

Defenders: Leighton Baines, Jamie Carragher, Ashley Cole, Michael Dawson, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, Ledley King, John Terry, Matthew Upson, Stephen Warnock.

Midfielders: Gareth Barry, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Tom Huddlestone, Adam Johnson, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Forwards: Darren Bent, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Emile Heskey, Wayne Rooney.

Tom Huddlestone is an interesting choice. SWP is shit.

I'd like to say now there is no prejudice in this thread, our European counterparts are more than welcome to express their opinions etc in this thread.

Also I'm sorry that Austria didn't qualify Cruel. Plz don't smite me again.

Our keepers worry me. Actually our defence worries me, and I still think we could use a decent out-and-out-striker or two.

So pretty much the squad worries you?

We don't really have a no. 1 keeper, the defense looks alright IMO and I don't think we have any better choice strikers. Again, if only John Carew was English.

Good wingers score the odd awsome goal, but rarely when it really counts. I agree with nine about crouch. Don't give him the ball to his feet, he's an oaf! But if Rooney is on form (which is less and less likely at international level lately) our offence should be well balanced between long ball and passing games. Shame there's not much of the Arsenal squad in the England team to show em how to pass the ball effectively (Arsenal still can't bloody get the ball in the net as much as they need, but their style of play is completely unique). Our defence worries me too. We've got a couple of strong heads in the back, but most of them like to go crazy offensive most of the time, which never ends well when all 4 of your defenders are pushing forward all the time. I won't be watching it as I've long lost my love for football. Most likely watch some of the bigger games on the family tele though. We haven't had a great keeper since Seaman (ROFL!) and he wasn't in his prime for a lot of his international career. I think we stand a good chance of getting through the group stages, anything past that is a bonus. Winning? NO way

Thing with Arsenal they have one tried and tested English player and he's in the squad.

Just remembered Sol Campbell, but the less said the better.

Yeah, the entire squad. Not sure who I'd want for #1 keeper - James has the assurance but is a bit flakey sometimes. I'm sure we don't have any better choices for strikers (Capello's squad is fine)...Crouch always looks so gangly and useless but I guess he does score...

I am pretty sure Germany will be group-winner, so you better win your group too.
When we follow this plan, we will meet again in the Final! Otherwise we will have to destroy your team in the round of 16

I just thought it was ironic that someone from the Germany under 21 team, thought to be swapping countries to play for Ghana who happen to be in Germanys group, takes out the German team captain...And yeah, I think it was more an impact injury then anything majorly srs.
