You fail. you forgot the return statement. Or make main a void. Well actually I didn't copy the entire code. Maybe I should have mentionned it . I actually find it a bit sad that it takes a dozen lines of code to display one line of text. But I like programming, I've been doing some crappy PHP stuff since I'm a kid and C++ reminds me a lot of that somehow.

A dozen is quite the understatement. Wait till you ever learn about Operating System programming.

A dozen is quite the understatement. Wait till you ever learn about Operating System programming. Indeed, I had to learn Assembler for a module once, programmed an electronic door lock. It took about 250 lines and a lot of head hurting to do something I could do in under 20 lines of C.

The first language is by far the hardest and there are much simpler languages than C++ out there...
Bet Polish isn't one of them, fucking stupid language. How long has something that looks like a l mixed with a / been pronounced "w" and "w" been pronounced "v"?! Srsly Poles, sort that shit out. Anywho, I still have no internet so Sky will be getting the full rage of netless Hz on my lunchbreak but it has given me time to catch up on Band of Brothers, which just gets better and better. Bulls a legend for his bayonett fury . Also, I just sneezed on my hand whilst eating a pan au chocolat and felt something hit. I ate it thinking it'd just be a bit of pastry and it turned out to be a fucking massive bogy. Cracking start to the day...

With regards to programming, I finally started my holiday work today, now I'm here on the forums delaying actually doing it.

Had a letter from the uni today, apparently they are giving me a degree, just not an honours degree. Got to try and decide whether it's worth going back and spending another 3 grand + living costs to get the last few credits I need for honours now.

given the current shitty job market I dunno it might be worth just getting a part time job and getting your honours, would give you a goal for a year, avoid the horrible market of now, and give you a better chance next year.

Just learnt (through the company grape vine) the company I work for will cease trading in the next week or so. This isn't as bad as it seems as it looks like the directors will of transfered all the assets of the existing company into a new company, I'll still have a job and the whole cycle will repeat itself.
I will probably be able to get redundancy too.

So you're going to ge a payout AND keep your job?!
Hope it all sorts itself out anyway, I speak from experience when I say the worst part is waiting to be told that you're out on your ear.

Looks like it, won't be a huge amount though. On the minus side I'll probably loose any protection I get from being at the company 2 years and I'll have the same incompetant bosses who are incapable of leaning from their mistakes (ie if you can't read a tape measure you don't do the surveying yourself)

Found out today that the warranty for my xbox runs out in November which isn't based on when I bought it at all. Seems I'll be getting it repaired after all

I downloaded the 5 install DVDs of Debian 5 (because we use this at school) with my super slow internet, only to find myself unable to install it today because the PC already has 4 primary partitions.

So far a good day. Been in to town and got a hair cut. Found that the hairdresser lady was agonising about an errant hair. She eventually got the courage up to ask if she could pluck it. Growing old means hair in odd places. I agreed, the errant mutant hair was removed. She felt better for it. Some how left town with a pair of trainers I hadn't planned on buying. Re-stocked fridge. having a cigar, happy bunny
