Bitch clearly cares more about her job than her kid. People like that shouldn't breed.

Not intending to defend that particular person, but in general that's a difficult topic. For one there are jobs you can't simply drop everything and take off. But also a lot of people rely desperately on their jobs these days, and losing a job can have grave consequences. So risking to lose your job will force you into making trade-offs, judging if the issue is indeed important enough to take that risk. A child getting ill with a contagious, yet fairly harmless disease does not exactly make such a decision easy. (Again, this should *not* refer to the specific case Nadine is having).
So this is not a clear black-and-white matter ...

I absolutely can understand that parents are afraid to lose their job. I lost my job twice last year and I don't even have an own kid to take care of.
BUT: If you have a kid and decide to work again, you have to know that there are days where you have to leave earlier because the kid is ill/hurt. And also the boss has to know that. If the parents or the boss are really surprised about that, I'm sorry but they didn't think about what "consequences" it can have when both parents are working.
Well the worst thing is that this girl gets ill because of her parents But that is another story..

Then again there are jobs where it is easier to leave early than others. Not everybody has a desk job with work which can be pushed back for a few hours or a day. Drastic example: If you're a nurse in an understaffed hospital (as most hospitals are) you can't just leave unless it is *really* important. But even in less dramatic scenarios it's not that easy. The moment your presence and/or your work is a critical factor you will face the question if the reason for leaving is indeed important enough.
Just look at yourself: *You* can't just take off since you are responsible for those kids in your care. In fact you couldn't just take off if it was really important!

And also the boss has to know that. If the parents or the boss are really surprised about that, I'm sorry but they didn't think about what "consequences" it can have when both parents are working.

Well, some bosses may understand, but expect a good enough reason. Some simply will not understand, or not care.
And don't get too hasty on insisting that bosses should take that into account: The flipside is companies being be reluctant to employ women with children (especially single mothers) simply because of such potential problems.

You are right Tea, I can understand all of it.
Another reason why beeing a childminder is so hard.. you have to make sure the kids won't infect each other and you have to be flexible and understand the parents and so on.. well of course I won't tell the parents to pick the kid up when it has a cold or something.. but with fever.. vomition.. thrush.. and s on the kids have to go home immediately. That is my responsibility.
And I'm working as a childminder for 6 months now and there was one case where the parents had to pick up the daughter (it took them 2 3/4 hours..) and it was highly infectious..

Ah.. it is something that can be discussed for ages.. everyone can handle it like he wants to. And if they find another childminder who also takes sick kids: Fine! PLease leave I can't risk that..

You've got to draw the line somewhere. The other children have to be protected, regardless of the restrictions of a
 persons job. A contagious yet 'fairly harmless disease'  in the case of one child could potentially be harmful to another child eg, their immune system may be intrinsically weaker and further stress on it could expose them to other harmful infection/illness that they may be more succeptible to.

Got a call from PC land saying my PC was ready for pick up. Went down there and yea, they seen to think they've fixed it, though I think they've just reseated the RAM sticks, which I know I've already tried. But he said it's been fine since. Also apparently fixed 136 Registry Errors. Also gave it a fucking good clean (tis almost sparkling, looks almost brand new.

Anyway, he'll be dropping it off in like 1 hour so fingers crossed...

lol, I <3 IT shops. I want to run one so my backup solution to everything can be give it a good clean physically and software wise, hang up a car freshener, reseat and clean all cards and contacts and then just ring the customer up and charge £200.

Er anyway serious question theres some kindof warranty on the repair right so if it fails again soon you can make them take it back and fix properly?

To some degree, yes. However, when it come to software problems it will be difficult to prove it's their fault and not perhaps the end user repeating mistakes which caused the problem in the first place.
Hardware problems should be a bit easier, but again you might be required to produce some evidence documenting negligence (e.g. photos of badly seated cards or RAM, bad wiring and the like).

But in the end, yes: If you turned in a computer with a description of a problem which they claimed to have fixed and the problem reoccurs then they should be liable.

It's sad how useless PC repair places are. :/
