or maybe do a course thats not rubbish? just saying then again i'm doing something painfully arty and loving it, you need someone to wax lyrical about films for 50 grand a year? then i'd have a job (or actually work in the industry i'm trained for, that would work too) MASSIVE AND SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION: latest project taster

well short term and purely money-wise its definitely not worth going but it opens up a lot of opportunities unless you do philosophy. Also fancy letters after your name. At the moment I am "Ian Knowles BEng MSc(Eng)"
My dad at the time of his retirement had more letters after his name than letters in his name, my favourite acronym was MICE (the last 2 letters stood for Civil Engineer).

Today is a dissertation day for me. I've not done nearly enough work throughout the year and it's becoming more and more apparent as I'm having to actually work on the project in the last week instead of just writing it up. Which kinda sucks Finally managed to get one of the big parts of it done today (the part I was dreading the most as it's the bit i've done the least work on compared to how much work I said I'd do). It's not great but it's made the most of a bad situation. I'm up to about 5,000 words now over about 20 pages. It's supposed to be in the upper end of 30-50 pages. In 4 weeks I will have completely finished my degree with my dissertation due on Monday and then 2 exams in the following weeks. No job lined up or anything yet...but I can keep doing my PHP development work for the summer while I try and find a real job.

I did all of mine in the 4 weeks during the easter break. 75 pages of code and 25 page write up.

Doing anything more than a few hours before the deadline is for the weak. Hmm, 12 hours left, better start if I want to play this evening

got a and inch and a half square of skin missing off the palm of my hand down to the muscle and a lot of tendon damage to my leg hip and ankle. he admitted it was his fault but me being a dumbass did not get his details as i was more concerned about getting myself to hospital. so the police cant do anything.
i could link you to a photo of my hand but its pretty gruesome

Get well soon mate. If you're ever in an accident where someone is injured, the police should always be called and both parties should remain at the scene. Easy to say though. I guess you were in a bit of shock at the time. At least you walked/limped away from it
