Has any one ever been told they have a dry socket after tooth extraction? It's the worst pain I have ever had. Worse than my acl recon was an that sucked. Would really hope it passes quickly

Baby came home yesterday and bought a strange truth home.

This time last year I was up until 1.30am on a Friday drinking, smoking and playing Black Ops.
Tonight, I'm staying up until 1.30am drinking tea and eating toast waiting for the next feed.

@Berath, yeah, everyone's back from the hospital. Kind of a shame as we'd just been moved into a private room for free due to the sudden influx of babies dropping on Wednesday afternoon (full moon or something, I don't really understand how that works).

Aye, was good to come home, although "we're coming home" is obviously Polish for "COME AROUND OUR HOUSE AT ALL HOURS AND WAKE THE BABY UP SO YOU CAN CUDDLE HER" because that's all we've had today. I'm totally clamping down on that shit, the last people came at like 10.30 this evening after they'd finished work ffs.

So I had the last day with the kids yesterday. My "business" stops officially on Monday.
Yesterday at lunch time I got an e-mail from the youth welfare office. They received sooooo many new calls from parents looking for a childminder next month, that they ask all the childminder to tell them as soon as possible how many free spaces they have. ARGH
Well it's better for our baby anyway...

Awwww babies.  Best advice is get them into a routine.  With a newborn we bottlefed every 3 hours, 4 hours after about 2 months (me doing the 9 & midnight, Mrs Bystander doing the 3 and 6) and dropped the 3am as soon as we could.  If you haven't got a microwave sterilizer it is worth it's weight in gold, that and a microwave to heat the bottles up.

Hopefully Eve is a quiet baby.  It's a bit thoughtless of people coming round regardless with a new baby.

Spent Friday sorting out plasterboard and Velux windows, it's truly horrible stuff, it comes in massive 2.4 x 1.2 meter sheets, is heavy (soundshield is 38kg a sheet) it's really fragile and it's pretty toxic, get the dust in your eye and you'll know about it.  I ended up with a pile of 50 sheets that need to be thrown away but as you can only dispose of them at special centers which cost a fortune.  They have gone into a pile to get buried under other stuff whilst the branch manager fights with head office about who pays for disposal.

After the plasterboard the Velux windows were almost easy, they merely weigh a ton and the boxes have handles.  So much old stock though.  Never have I been so grateful Magnet train everyone up on the forklift.

We have a new kitchen designer who used to be the assistant in the retail showroom.  She's only in her early 20s I don't think she quite realized what she was letting herself in for.  Selling a kitchen on the trade side can also mean having to get it out the warehouse yourself.

Went to a meet of my LoTRO kinship in St. Albans.

Ate cake and carved pumpkins.

(especially nice since one had flown in from Holland and another from Sweden, which was why we had the meet really)

Had a car accident - was on my way into town to have a night out and a deer ran out into the road and mauled the front of my car I'm home and absolutely fine, but I think my car is a write off. Gah, did not need this at all.
