The clingfilm is obviously there for a reason, either to keep stuff from getting in or getting out.
Is the yellow liquid clear or opaque? If it's clear, I would wager it's plain ols p*ss (probably), and hence the cling film is keeping the stench in.
If it's opaque -- then I have no idea but probably the film is perhaps there to keep germs, mold spores, whatever out.

You discover some weird things at this time in the morning.
Specifically, on a shelf in the cupboard under the stairs, I've just found a half pint glass of yellow liquid covered with cling film.
I wasn't quite sure what to do at this point. Do I investigate? Do I question my housemates and risk an awkward answer? Do I just leave it? Obviously, I went with option four, ask some random people on the internet.
What do you lot think I should do?
Any signs of separation? Clear or Opaque? |

the only thing we had in the cupboard under the stairs was a traffic cone. yellow liquid is far more ambiguous. i suggest being crafty and leaving it out for someone else to find and question. then they might be stupid enough to open it first

Some murky brown residue, sediment like, at the bottom of the glass. The liquid is clear. Tilting the glass from side to side it doesn't seem to have the viscosity of oil. I vote you taste it.
