Today was a good day. I made some progress with my thesis research (e.g. finding out that 50% of one of the datasets I want to use is redundant).
Also my 4870 & PSU arrived at the automated PO box, will go pick it up later on.
I'll be installing them happily tomorrow, so if I'm away for several days, you'll know I f***ed up.

Ugh! Annoyed

Today was mega quiet, which was fucking ace after like 3 weeks of mental-ness. All was going well, and cos it was so quiet, we managed to do pretty much all the cleaning duties before we closed, so we were like "fucking ace, as soon as we close at 11pm, we can pretty much go straight away". Then some douchebags came in at 10:55pm -.- unfortunately it meant we had to serve them, though we said they'd need to order everything they want now as we're about to close. Usually people take that as a hint not to order too much and just eat quickly and get out. Not these guys however. They ordered Mains, sides and desserts =/ so literally the last thing we had to do was clean the table they were sat on, but all we could do is just sit there and watch as they slowly went through their meal they finally left at like 11:40pm, but by the time we finally finished it was like 12am.

Non leavers are the worst. We always used to get them at work. You'd announce last orders so they'd come up and buy about 4 drinks each then not go away until about 2am.

At a pub (I presume that's where you mean since you talk about drinks) it's different though because there's a law about drinking up time and I think it's 30 minutes after last orders.

It's a golf club so the drinking laws are different as it's a members and residents thing.

I don't think they tipped at all tbh. Oh and deadly, the drinking up time applies at the restaurant as well, but that's only on alcohol, not food.

On the plus side, got paid for the period after xmas to new years today, which was fucking crazy busy, and people tipped HARD. My paychaeck is £100 more than what I'd usually get, and that'll be just from the tips. I know for sure there was one day I got £73 in tips *fap fap fap*

Today I lernt that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Might be a flame thrower.

The last pay cheque I got was subject to an additional -£300 tax. I had a chat with a very nice lady at the HMRC and it turns out that the reason the tax was so high was due to being on the wrong tax code. But unfortunatly it was taken out all in one go and the timing of it happening on the pay cheque after Christmas wasn't great. So a good thing I got some cash for Christmas or I'd be having to use my overdraft. So the silver lining is that I'm now paying the correct level of tax, and the next pay cheque won't be hit as hard (I hope).

On the very bright side, it's Friday. Just two more jobs to go. And it's a weekend off. YAY! So looking forward to Frag fest. New Years Eve was a quiet affair. Too many people enjoying themselfs in the real world and I had work the next day.
