It's a bit of a moot point as this is likely the final class specific update (unless they cycle round again, which I don't see happening), but my ideal solution would be a mod to restrict the joining of a class post update unless it is in your, say, top three most played. People could obviously reset their stats to work around but I imagine most would be loathe to do this.

Sorry, the map rotation isn't built with you in mind, if you don't like it, then do as you did and leave and come back when its a map you like.

Another instance of same over and over again..... 3 new maps and they are not even allowed to finish.... instead admin wants gravelpit so we have gravelpit....
The map was changed to gpit because I was getting sick of the incesant bitching and moaning about the new map and people asking to change and I switched to gpit as it had won the previous vote; it wasn't a case of me wanting it. Also, in the few hours that I was on we played all 3 maps at least twice, all the way through to the end so I don't think its a case of not allowing the new maps to finish.

apologies I didnt realise GP was voted for tbh?.  All I heard was I'm changing to gravel pit, and then there it was.

And if that many people were griping why didnt they rtv?  they moaned enough to get voting enabled why not use it?  Instant map changes are crap imo especially when I was top and enjoying it, Grin yes change map if the majority rule, but at least at the end of round... although that said round times seem to go on forever here as I have said previously lol

One thing the admins might take into consideration: A slightly larger list for maps to vote for. I saw that at NuBs which have (I think) 7 choices. Upside: More maps to vote from (d'oh). Downside: Due to votes spreading a lower number of players are deciding the new map.

Whilst your right for the majority.... the better fix would be to increase the number of maps on the voting list, and increase the number of maps that they cannot be replayed for Wink

Mini sentries are fun, the wrangler feels a bit overpowered on certain maps. Sentries can become nearly unkillable with added range.
New shotty also feels a bit too strong, I need to test it more.

Interesting idea.  Would be good to test Smiley

for me its the lack of change of type of map rather than the maps itself.  Here is how id like to see it:

For examlple.  we always seem to play CP maps.  (not always but seems to be the majority)

I would like to see perhaps a voting system that has groups of maps like this

group1 5CP
fastlane
granary

group 2 PL
badwater
goldrush

group 3 ctf
doublecross
sawmill

group 4 attack/defend cp
dustbowl
gravelpit

group 5 koth
dont know koth maps lol Grin but imagine 2 of em here Grin

and then for each map change you vote from the group in rotation that way you always get a rotation of type of game.  So one type of map never follows another of the same type so even if a map comes up multiple times (3x granary for eg), its not compounded by the fact that all the other maps that have been played have been the same type (2x fastlane, 1x well, etc etc)

Yes not all maps played in one night are the same type but not everyone plays all night and can often get a sample of just one type in the time they spend.
