Yes your right but you miss my point though. 1 map (type) going on for an hour or so drains you regardless of whats happening (stalemate or spamfest), and its equally more so when once over the next map comes up and its more of the same.
I prefer to mix things up. Which is why I often go to a 24hour server for one map type I wanna play then when Im done I move to another. Its personal preference I know but the majority of maps on WDG are 5cp, so thats where I come for that.... just not extended periods of it
I chose 5cp in my selection as they are low on my like list anyway

New maps are horribly optimised, I use quite a heavy FPS script and wasn't getting more then 60 with no action, at one point dropping down to under 10...Hopefully it'll get looked at soon as atm, its fucking retarded; I've been loosing between 5-10 FPS every update since the scout one. I remember when I first got this rig I could play on medium settings and get 100+ consistantly

Don't let my statement be the exact answer to hzza's, my answer is in reference to all servers, and admins need to think about this to ensure the server stays popular - which believe me is tougher than it looks!
I agree a thinking game is better than a spamfest, but please take on board that me using 5cp maps was just in imo.
Think about your worst map. Then imagine going on for an hour. Then once over the next map is the same sort of thing..... that is my point
for some its bliss, for others not so. WDG use a lot of 5cp maps and that isn't my greatest love hence I tend to play on different 1 or 2 map only servers, and change server when I wanna change map, so I can guarantee I will enjoy the next game

This! I remember when this game came out I had everything on max and it worked fine. And since the Classless Update I had to use a low fps config that made the game unenjoyable and look like shit. Thank god I got a quadcore for christmas, well, the new maps really run slowly.

blllleeeugh, badlands and gpit came up 3 times each tonight, i ragequitted. If anyone wants to switch maps please don't switch to those 2, i can deal with any other map

Another instance of same over and over again..... 3 new maps and they are not even allowed to finish.... instead admin wants gravelpit so we have gravelpit....

Also I wanna add about building in the spawn point and moving out afterwards. While I see the validity for sgs to be done this way as deploying straight to lvl 3 has its advantages, I dont agree on teles....
While the engi is faffing around in spawn point with teles going nowhere, and upgrading them, the rest of the team could be happily teleporting. Instead of having to wait for a tele to be built we now have to wait for it to be built, fully upgraded and then moved into place.....
Perfect example tonight defence in gravelpit. A is already took, b is under attack and the teles only go to spawn 1 metre away. We lost the whole map before the teles were even upgraded let alone moved.

Egg has a valid point about the lack of good engying at the moment, but it's probably always been the case with every update that you get less effective players when a new update is out. It probably just notices more when it's engies, because engi is such a team player.
Not sure what can actually be done about it.

Sorry, the map rotation isn't built with you in mind, if you don't like it, then do as you did and leave and come back when its a map you like.

The map was changed to gpit because I was getting sick of the incesant bitching and moaning about the new map and people asking to change and I switched to gpit as it had won the previous vote; it wasn't a case of me wanting it. Also, in the few hours that I was on we played all 3 maps at least twice, all the way through to the end so I don't think its a case of not allowing the new maps to finish.
