Quite the kind of ugliness time can only improve upon ...
Congratz ... and a "gg" on Ms Bystander ... a job well done
Bad Teatime!, if you want to get on in life never call someone's baby ugly. She was only 5 mins old at the time too. She is now much cuter and no longer purple.
Not last night she didn't

We are both trying to remember what to do with a baby at the moment. Not that there are many options at the moment.
If asleep - leave
If crying - feed
If crying after feed - burp
If crying and smelly - change
If still crying - hold until quiet or try to ignore.
WTF!?.... oh Want!
Tip for the day, stay at your wife's head end during labour, you really want to leave the other end for the professionals. Even the easiest labour is a very bloody and messy affair. However bad it is at the head end it's worse the other end. Maree is very funny on gas and air between contractions. I didn't get any death threats, just threats of emasculation, startling revelations about our private life and crushed hands.
Thanks for all your well wishes. Maree is well, if exhausted and achey and she has babies relatively easily. Lucy is sleeping ..... like a baby after being up all night.
The labour ward was being refurbished and was a mess, the day staff were brilliant, the night staff were stroppy cows who disappeared. The ward had no lightbulbs in the bedside lights, no headphones on the TVs and the emergency cords didn't work.
There was also the standard NHS"wait 10 times longer than necessary" for everything. I don't think it helped Maree getting discharged when she was swigging from a bottle of wine (first drink in 9 months) when the Registrar turned up to do the final checks on the baby.
Edit: Maree's family have been brilliant, they have bought us a ton of baby essentials including a very posh Silver Cross buggy, a car seat and a cot.
