lol 97 currently makes it the all time best rated pc game, and just no. Original starcraft has 88 for comparison. Its a good game and I will be getting it for the singleplayer a a little multi but its not the all time best pc game evar (its hardly changed from the first one and apparently the balance is actually worse) and its not worth the £45 rrp. Ever since I replayed C&C a couple of years ago I realised I'm shite at RTS so will give this a miss. Might follow the comp scene though, I watche a couple of comp SC1 matches a couple of months ago and even though I didn't have a shitting clue what was going on it was all very fast and impressive.

I would only buy it for multiplayer, but I suck at RTS games. I am not good at games where you have to know every attribute of every unit. Thats why I never played Dota or other stuff. I tried Company of Heroes, the best RTS game imo, but failed. I also don't have the money atm. Lucky me |

blizzard have got fairly good at writing over the top action stories, i'm expecting the singleplayer to be pretty cool. While i'm not convinced the multiplayer has really moved on, I am expecting a lot of improvements to singeplayer in the story, cutscenes, missions etc. I like that you get to purchase all the units that got dropped from multi, makes me happy they have a home somewhere.

By all accounts I've read so far the story, voice acting and characters are all shite! But then this is day 2 so most reviews are a bit incomplete I guess. Lots of praise of the engine, graphics, mission variety and general gameplay though.

Reviews are so hit and miss, I don't really know any sites I trust because a lot of reviewers are either terribad at games and/or mindless hype machines. From a personal basis I think Starcraft 2 is the best RTS I've played and it's not much like the original, so much has changed that I think it will be easier to start with RTS at a point where everyone hasn't figured out the best strats yet. |
