Tbh. the first one nearly pushed you into it, while in the second one there really only is tali. For Samara you need like 100% paragon and morinth... well I wouldn't recommand it.

Don't skip out on the loyality missions, those are the best in the game!

I've got Archangel and the Scientist dude, and the Krogan in a tank. Oh and Jack.. the insane prisoner.

Loyalty missions? I assume these will pop-up from my crew to gain their trust? None of my team are loyal yet!

Yeah, loyalty missions pop up after some dialogue with each crew member and are easily the best part of the game. Make sure you don't miss any because they srsly do kick ass.

They become loyal once you (successfully) complete their missions.
Don't worry that you'll miss them, kelly will tell you that 'x has something on their heart', even if you don't talk to them regularly.

Just wow...(and I'm a hard person to impress with games!). Not been this immersed since Deus Ex.. and this trumps that by a small amount!

Simply stunned at how good this game turned out. Have just finished it...

a quick run through:

1) I ended up shagging Miranda
2) She didn't make it to the end, neither did Morden, Jack or Grunt
3) I let the Dr die too
4) I summarise my self as "extreme paragon"....

Will definitely re-play in a blatant attempt to get alien sex going...

Did it turn out a similar way for you lot?

The first time I played through I lost a couple of people, but I reloaded a save and saved them; didn't want to have anyone missing for the 3rd part . I shagged Tali instead of Miranda and was very much NOT a paragon. That was with my main "story" dude though, I've done a couple of playthroughs messing around with the other outcomes and whatnot, but the dude above, Fart Shepard, is the dude I bought over from ME1 and will take over to ME3.

But yeah, next playthrough give the Vanguard class a bash. If you spec him right he's damn near unkillable. Did you get any of the free DLC? There's a couple of nice little bits but they are a massive PITA to find/download.

People dying depends on several factors:
Get all your important ship upgrades (Guns, shields and armor if I remember correctly).
Chose the right leaders/hacker
Have all of them loyal if possible, ESPECIALLY the leaders/hacker
Get them their specific upgrades.


I personally had one or two die in my "main" playthrough and left it at that, because going back would have felt like cheating to me. Also, I don't think they'll make much difference in ME3, since anybody can die (heck, nearly all of them can die, you only need to have 1 survive in order to have shepard survive) and they need to be able to continue with the story with every single possible combination.

Junta, do you plan to play ME1 now? Gameplay wise it's more rpg than shooter (and inferior in general in my not so humble opinion), but story wise I'd call it better and importing your save from ME1 into 2 changes a thing or two.

Also, if you play through again, I can highly recommend changing your gender, once again it changes how some people react to you (though not so much as I'd hoped), but it might get into the way of your main objective: alien sex.

Quick summary of my playthrough:

1) Infiltrator (cloak is my best friend)
2) I decided to make choices in the game based on the decisions I would make ''in real life''. My karmaic result could be described as ''slight bastard / a bit renegade''.
3) Tali. I actually agree with Hzza for the first time in my life on this point.
4) Everyone survived because I am cool (or possibly just suffer from OCD). This was disappointing though as I did try my best to get Jack killed, not that I don't like her or anything.

Does cloak get magically useful later on? Because I tried it and it sucked IMHO. You can either use it to get in OR the get out, but not both. If I use it to get in, I better kill EVERYTHING or I'm toast since I'm out of position and if I use it to get out I'd rather have something like tech armor (best thing in this game) that allows me to stay in instead.

Srsly. Vanguard. OP. Do it. I've done nightmare runs and taken out whole mobs by myself, it really is that insane. Charge > Melee > Shotgun > Melee. That can take out Harbs and by the time you've melee'd them a second time, you can charge again which refils your shield to full; pretty much making you invunerable. Unless you miss with the shotgun/the charge glitches/you do something stupid.

I found the sniper rifle to be ridiculously useful coupled with cloak in a danger zone. Perhaps it was just my playstyle that complimented that combination.

That can take out Harbs and by the time you've melee'd them a second time, you can charge again which refils your shield to full; pretty much making you invunerable. Unless you miss with the shotgun/the charge glitches/you do something stupid.

Tbh. it really depends on the difficulty. On normal shockwave is laughable overpowered. You can basically one-shot groups of enemies. On higher difficulties EVERYBODY has at least shield or armor, sometimes both, making shockwave useless. I'm guessing your strategy will fall flat there aswell.

It also really depends on your teammates. If you bring nobody with incinerate, you better have it yourself

Tried and tested on the hardest difficulty mate; the system works . I usually have inferno ammo for myself and freeze ammo for the rest of the squad; then pull field to trip shields from bitches behind cover and for a bit of CC. You don't really need the last power so I usually put it in something lully (reaver or slam or something), and I'd always, ALWAYS take Heavy Charge as it basically gives you a free, close range headshot. Then take the Vanguard specilization that recharges your shield everytime you charge for obvious reasons. Equipment wise the only specilist things you really need are the headset that increases headshot damage, the Evi (free) DLC shotgun and the pads that increase melee damage (all of which you can get in Omega I believe).

Then take Miranda for her passive damage buffs and the Krogan matey to tank or Garus for all round asskickery and you're set.

From then on its just getting the hang of hitting headshot > melee > headshot and knowing how long you have left before you can charge again. As long as you don't do anything stupid (LOL, 4KROGANS, CHAAAAAAAARGE) you should be able to take on nearly anything.

There's videos of dudes soloing areas on youtube, I'll try and find them when I get home because it really is impressive when done right. And fun as fuck too, I had real trouble playing as any other class after this; they all felt too slow paced and boring!
