I've basically played it for 3 years straight now, with a few pauzes lasting about a month.

Yeah I still play actively - play quite a lot of casual ARAM games these days but I also want to do more ranked games to advance out of Bronze IV

There we go, another lovely game of ARAM with another Teamwork point for me. Very civilised game and nicely balanced team.

But I now have 450 riot points and 9910 influence points.

Maybe I should think about spending them  

And have they changed things...I'm sure things were different....some of the recommended items for Alistair and I'm sure I don't remember a mana bead

Yeah - in the patch a few weeks ago they changed a lot of support items and added trinkets (which help with things like warding).

Last night they also introduced 'Showdown' - the new featured game mode (like 'All for One' or whatever it was called). This is a 1v1 or 2v2 game played on Howling Abyss but with normal summoner's rift rates of experience/gold and you can back/heal etc. You win by either killing a tower, killing 100 minions or (most importantly) getting a kill on the Enemy champion. Not sure if it's the same for 2v2 (i.e. 1 kill etc.). You have a bans phase as well.

I played a quick game last night as Caitlyn against a Sona. Needless to say, I won.

It was pretty fun - it's basically solo-lane practice except you might be against any type of champion

Also, I like poros. If you like poros too - then you should play some Showdown.

When the game ends, lots of poros appear on the map

Doesn't help that everytime I find a champ I like I google them and everyone's going 'crap champ useless at z, can be beaten here by champ x, champ y does this loads betterl and I just go '

My recommendation is just to pick a random free week champ, read a guide or two, jump in to a couple of matches with them and see if you gel with how they play. If so, buy them. If not, move on to a different champ.

It's easy enough to buy the champs everyone considers overpowered at current, but chances are next month they'll be nerfed and/or everyone suddenly remembers that champion X is strong if you build Y because pro player Z did it and suddenly they're the new OP.

(Maybe start with the OP champs in free week though - Annie, Lucian, Trundle and Wukong have been seeing a lot of play recently)

So Team Builder is on a 2 day live beta and it's pretty good - pick a champ, pick a role, and eventually you'll get picked out of a crowd by some happy team leader. Queue times are pretty long (minutes) if you're playing popular roles and/or unorthodox champs, but worth it for the lack of salt in champ select (plus if you just want to play support is like a 2 second queue even in the middle of the day).

I thought it was an interesting idea; a way of avoiding the laning arguments at the start.

Mind you, at the moment, I'm looking to have a small handful of champs that I can play anywhere to get the practice in, so I probably won't try it yet - just see where I end up after everyone else has decided.

Had a diverting game the other evening with Alistar top (hence reason to buy a couple more champs, it was the second time he'd ended up there) vs two ranged...can't remember who except both stayed in lane almost all the time!

The jungler spent the first five minutes arguing with Ashe who didn't want to go mid. Eventually, with all resolved, the team did offer to assist me if I needed it, but then proceeded to ignore all my polite little requests for help as I was poked further and further back.

We lost

Pah....though  no-one wanted support. I seem to be always top these days

Everyone wants support except for the one match where no-one could work out what anyone wanted and I ended up support with Cho' gath

Actually support Cho can work when you are with a burst adc. Basically get one knock up silence combo at 6, followed by a feast and some burst from the adc and it would be a sure kill.

But he is slightly unreliable as a support, only works when you and the adc can communicate well and adopt an aggressive play style.

No communication in this case. Just an Ashe demanding that Cho somehow 'attack' to provide her with kills. I muted her because she got annoying. No idea what sort of 'attack' she though Cho had.

But that's how I try to work it with Alistar, well-timed knock-ups but it's rare that the timing is right even though with him, it happens immediately with no time delay.


Had a great time with Fizz top though, later. Cutest thing in the world, fully feasted Cho with little Fizz running beneath him!
