A lame tactic but one which is commonly used to unbalance the opposing team, is to initiate a map vote and vote Goldrush whilst Beercan is playing for the opposition

i dont know if this counts too but.....
Once i played sniper on pub server, we were playing against a team with 5 clan members in it. I've had one of my better days and was able to domintate 1/3 of the team. After a while one of those clan members changed to our team, took a demo and he started to stand before me so i couldnt hit anything, he followed me all the time so i was forced to change class.
I never saw that happen again,but still,it was anoying.

One lame thing is if clan people are messing around on your team because they really want to join their mates on the other team, and be lame creating go-backwards teleporters (usually), or simply wasting the teams time.

Also lame: using voicechat to broadcast crap music. Double lame if alltalk is on.

Gameplay wise though, there isn't a great deal that is lame - although spawncamping as a spy or similar is just silly, and exploiting maps is always bad, but more Valve's problem then anything.

Although the Sandman is still crap.

Yep. Ironically - it worked lol but only on Cap A... Cap B hurt allot.. and C.. well, lets not go there

Here we go again:

I need an example for a nerf not directly related to a preceding update.
With that I mean something which was around for a while until Valve felt needed correcting, not a newly introduced weapon which just has gotten adjusted after a couple of weeks.
I think there were some nerfs to the demoman which could qualify, correct?

Scout Update Date: 24/02/09
A few minor updates, then this on the 20/04/09:
- Scouts now drop the flag if they're carrying it when they start phasing

That's just about the only non-directly class linked update with just under 2 months between the release and the nerf.

Spy/Sniper updates are currently from 21/05 - 23/06 (just over a month)

I can't be bothered to try and find older release notes. But the scout one is just one example?

Thanks, but that's exactly NOT what I'm looking for (since this adjustment became necessary with the introduction of the BONK)

yeah, also the soldier doesn't do full damage at point blank range anymore, it used to, apparently.

They messed around with the soldier's number of rockets. It went to 36, then to 16, then to the current 20.

They also got rid of the 40% damage reduction he used to take from his own rockets.


I think the demoman nerf meant that stickies laid took a second or two before they did full damage, to stop the demo being really fing annoying.

As well as the soldier ammo reduction, the demo got the following:
Reduced Demoman's maximum grenade launcherreserve ammo from 30 to 16
Reduced Demoman's maximum  sticky bomb  reserve ammo from 40 to 24

Dunno what update it was tho.

Also:
Previous damage was 74-153 from a stickie.

Now spread reduced from 25% to 10%

I think that's why they did it. Also prevented soldiers and demos from getting to a very powerful area (such as Gravelpit's control point B roof) and being able to stay up there for ages without having to come down for some reason.

I think that demoman, at high level, was better than most other classes before they nerfed him a bit. But I'm a soldier, so I would say that.
