Nice and easy, what class did you play when you first got the game and how did you get to the main that you play now?

Mine was scout because I loved the idea of double jumping and shooting people in the face with a kick ass shotgun. I stopped after about 2 rounds because I kept running head on into people and getting ruined, so I went to heavy to try and stay alive a bit longer. I stayed with him for a while because I could kill lots of babies and get lots of medic attention, but got pissed off because I attracted crits like nobodys business! After heavy was medic, which I stuck with for ages because IT IS AWESOME! Then I came to WDG and played medic for ages and ages and ages and felt like another change, so went back to my beloved scout, which is where we are today! Along the way there has been some pyroing, sniping and sollying but not enough to really get into them (although I do have a special place in my heart for pyros!)

Spy. Then once I got fifty hours as spy, I switched to Soldier. Now at 70 hours soldier, but I feel I have a ways to go at it still, so I won't be playing Spy unless the team desperately needs one.

I started as a pyro, i think (i really can't remember much from back then Tongue). And then when the pyro update came out there were just too many pyros for me to keep playing so i changed to solly after a bit of dabbling in various classes. Nowadays i still play solly although i like to play a bit of sniper.

Good thread idea!

I tried to start out playing soldier, but found I was terrible at it, so I tried most of the classes before settling on sniper as something I was familiar with from other games. I got OK at it, but then, having learnt more about how the game works, went back to soldier and got pretty good.
Then at some point, some horrible lying voice in my head told me it would be a good idea to trade the rocket launcher for a revolver and the spade for a knife. Can't actually remember when I started spy properly, but it was after the pyro update. I just loved the idea of instakilling and being invisible and probably always will, even though I'm not the most subtle of spies.
Like all BFM I've been through the obligatory pyro phase, before realising it's best left for Millhawk Tongue

Okay, going back to hateful Mark...there we go:
"I fucking hate TF2...whatever I got it now might as well play it when I'm done with Portal, never going to replace TFC/FF tho...stupid valve destroying my game!"
*Joins a server and decides that since medic doesn't have infection anymore [bloody wankers took that and my grenades] I guess scout is the strongest class [heard about some scattergun thing]*
Well I played for 2 hours [average time it takes to enjoy/hate a game IMO] and thought it was dreadful went back to my mates on TFC and told them about how there were no grenades and that medic was now officially off the list of people that capture the flag, can now only be done by scouts. [I did play all the classes liking the scout the most because he seemed to have the most kick to him]

A couple of months later TFC died, my favorite server locked down [the owner thought paying for something he didn't use anymore was dumb] FF was already dead for me because my only friends on there were american and I couldn't play with them...Sad
Here I am without a game to play [tried going back to CSS again but didn't feel right because of the number of strange things that had happened.
Tried a few weeks of Guild Wars [bloody awful] so I go back to TF2, hoping for some kind of love [this be about the time Medic pack came out so I played medic]
FREAKING LOVED IT! for some reason Medic grew on me and became nearly an obsession, [94 hours now] I never played anything but medic, I was always top of the team [random pubs even]
End up falling in love with the HH server, joining some random clan with some Swedish guys and there I fall in love with heavy who won me a lot of respect [not because I was good but because they were phenomenal medics] after some time on HH I decide that pub hopping was more fun so I start doing so [tags and all] then I find a server with two guys on it [(=wdg=) Claws & (=wdg=) Chaos] they are very talkitive and fun to play with, sadly server is full when I want to play so I don't go there so much, end up going to random pubs for some time, THEN I start playing more with (=WDG=) and they ask me to join (rather oddly really I never thought they would) now I've been here for a long time [8/9 months?] and I'm still liking it here, now I play spy because it's more fun than a medic heavy combo, i do however still enjoy medic and still find that I am good at it Grin [There is also a rather large parking space in my heart where the heavy parks: my love Cheesy] *goes back to being asshat mark again*

Bloody sorry if you're having a hard time reading this

Hmmm, I've gone through a phase of playing every class, hence why I consider my self a fairly good all rounder (I'm no Cheez, but what can you do?).

I think when I first started I played scout and got fed up pretty damn quick for the same reason as Hzza, I would just run face first into people expecting to survive, kills were a rare thing. After that was I played Pyro loads for lots of W+M1 win to make me feel good. Can't remember what I was playing when I first joined the WDG server but I know that after a short while I played sniper almost religiously (I believe I became quite a pain in the ass for many Wink). After a few months or so, I tried spy, and actually got into it, whilst at the same time getting into demo, so would alternate between the two.

Then at some point I got back into scout (I honestly can't remember when) and here we are today Smiley

Well I started playing engi. That was back in those days where you could build a sentry at the beginning, keep it until the end and score 20 kills with it, and that without babysitting it all day Cheesy
Then I found pretty fast the medic. I'm playing supporter in many games... dunno why

Medic, pure goodness that is medic.

1. It's all I was good at in TFC (or at least the only one I had real fun playing, apart from the very odd bit of heavy or soldier)

2. It was the most interesting change of powers for a class bar the stealth of the spy, since no game (and certainly nothing like TF2) had an invincibility ray

3. I didn't have to aim Wink It does take some getting used to the games engine before you can really shoot properly.

I did however really spread what i played thin at the beginning - it was Beta remember, so some of it wasn't fully polished. I did play every class more or less evenly I think during the beta period.

GIVE IT TO ME! I'LL BREAK IT!

Just before TF2 Came out, Id had all but given up on PC gaming... UT2004 was getting boring, CSS was too leetist, TFC didnt interest me that much.. there wasnt much out there for someone who just wants a laugh on their computer at the time..
So my PC was mainly used as a tool for work and and making movies/flash stuff/websites ect for some creative fun.

I played consoles most of the time.. My Xbox 360 was the main choice.. playing games like Halo, PGR3, Shadowrun, Crackdown and the like.. then this thing called the Orange box that everyone was raving on about.. I knew it had HL2E2 and this new portal concept on it, So i got it for the X360 for about £20 new (pretty sweet deal!)
Went through all the HL2 games again, finished portal and LOVED IT (still do) and gave TF2 a quick bash.

Played a lot of heavy and engie  to start with.. theyr easy classes to start getting to grips with the game.. and I just thought it was a bit average.. silly looking cartoon shooter with all the basics of a MP FPS youd expect.. but no DM?
This confused me a LOT at first! Its not very often you see a multiplayer FPS without deathmatch mode! so I pretty swiftly gave up for about a month..

I gave it another go after a while and it was pretty dead online on the X360 at that point.. there were litterally NO servers with anyone on.. if there were, they were full of loud, brash americans and my ping made it unplayable!

Then my mate asked me to play UT2004 with him for a quick scrim (needed someone to fill up the match team for a game) and by chance, I clicked steam instead of UT. Doh
As it was up, I thought Id check to see how the TF2 community was on the PC..
Turned out it was BOOMING!
so I got myself a new steam account (thought it fitting as I was almost starting afresh with PC gaming) and got the Valve complete pack (why not, it was about as much as the Orange box in the shops.. about another £10 more for about 20 games!)
and I quickly downloaded TF2!

After a few evenings playing on GTFO/Multiplay/ect servers I was really enjoying it!
It was a challenge.. and I actually DIDNT miss Deathmatch!
the more I played, the less I missed it! "here's something completely different, the change I been lookng for!" I thought.
A game thats not about how many kills I can get and how I can be top of the scoreboard or how many achievements are left! (console gaming left me pretty jaded)

I used to click random class when I joined a server.. did that for the first month or so! so I quickly found the classes I liked to play and the ones I didnt!
I loved solly and engie at first.. with Sniper reminding me of my UT2004 days (thats the one where it does matter about how many kills so there is a similarity there) so I played him every now and then.
After growing bored of playing with different people every day and playing in the odd scrim for my mates CSS clan I thought Id look about at clan servers.. found NuB pretty quicky.. they were all very good! too good at first tbh.. I barely got a shot in most of the time.. so I left them and found WDG straight after!
Pretty much straight away I fell in love with the place.. I was on the forum the 1st night I joined the server pretty much!
I BEGGED to join the clan.. even provided myself as cannon fodder for the clan members in a quick achievement farming session one evening before my trail...
I fill out the "join us" form, and keep posting on the forums and playing on the server (sometimes 1st there and last out.. much like now)
a couple of weeks later (STILL LOVING IT!) PapaFade sends me a message "tag up mate, your in"
I IMMEDIATELY SPOOGE MY PANTS!

IM IN! I passed and gave myself to WDG!
Would do it all over again!
Ever since I joined I been a PC NERD and theres no chance of me going back to console gaming.. not how I was before anyway..
So Im a pc gamer once again.. after a long stint of consoles.. (dont suppose any of you would have guessed that I played consoles like that once)

Anyway.. back to class selection..
I was soldier most of the time at WDG.. bit of engie, demo, pyro.. but mainly soldier..
Then along comes ReVerT!
He (as you all know) could HS a fly moving at the speed of light the f*cker! and almost inspires me to get good at it again.. so I practice on the quiet (on public servers.. playing some CSS-GunGame on the side for better reactions and aiming) and I get to a level where I can actually kill him back a few times for the 100 hes killed me..

since then I played sniper all the time.. as you know Tongue and got pretty awsome at it (toot toot)

But alas, now I am bored of sniping for the most part.. so he doesnt see much action anymore.. mainly solly and engie again.. full circle Cheesy

Sorry that that was so long.. just had a long creative session so the juices are flowing Smiley

played a lot of BF2 a few years ago (ate up all my free time at college) and before that CoD:UO so i really didn't think i would be much good at a deathmatch type game

got on, played soldier and had a blast. not looked back much since (couldn't get online much last year, crappy blocked ports on the uni internet so i suppose that counts) always play solly, always will. just fits my play style perfectly, but it needs more love damit!

Definitely medic first - I like healing, like how the class isn't all about twitch aiming, and when it started there was lots of fun switching ubers/etc. Pretty much exclusively medic'd since the beta, but got a bit disillusioned with pub servers sometimes.  I'd flirted with the UT series a bit, but CSS wasn't for me. Was in [NuB] for a short time, but then left and found Junta and thought 'woah, this guy is a great heavy' and stuck myself to him like an unwanted limpet. That's pretty much when I started stalking him too.

Now I probably play soldier more, but I still love the medic with the right teams.

Got the Orange Box as a Xmas pressie, all I really wanted was Portal and Ep 2, thought I'd give TF2 a go.  Started as heavy on CP-Well, no clue as to what to do, no idea that I could spin the gun up but about 30 secounds in I was hooked defending (I now know) CP 2 against a massive rush.

Then I got into engineering, played alot on random servers and the PC Gamer server where it was even commmented that I was quite good, tried pyro, loved it, then I had my 2Fort period, played nothing else for about a month, also played alot of soldier until they increased the harm you took from splash damage and I suddenly started dieing alot

I changed my game name from Faysal to Millicent Bystander and one day whilst jumping round random servers I stumbled across the WDG clan.  I think I put in an appliction the next day.

I find myself stark naked except for a pair of latex gloves attempting to pull on a pair of red tights on in my parent's spare bedroom.
