I've got a peckering for Arena - as long as the settings are tuned to allow the maximum amount of people to play so there isn't as much dead time. The reason is, we've got a new community map in the update to play on it, and I'd not mind trying out stuff against this new scout update, or at least just bang some heads together (I certainly won't be playing scout  ). Someone suggested it in another thread. I guess server 2 could run it, doesn't need much special apart from the correct settings to allow all but a maximum of one (odd player) to play in a round, rather then the usual "keep the maximum number of players out of the game waiting for FIVE FUCKING MINUTES IF THEY MISS A GO WHILE THEY GET PISSED OFF THEN LEAVE BECAUSE IT'S BLOODY BORINGTHANKS VALVE FOR MAKING IT SO CRAP IN THE DEFAULT SETTINGS"But since that's fixable via. admin plugins and settings, all might be better! At least for a few hours of playtime. I suggest maybe Wednesady evening for the event, which is a common enough night for debauchery in custom mode. Any takers or will I have to go find a public server for this?   |

I'd be up for arena some night (I don't know what the custom setting is though). It works pretty well as a late night alltalk thing sometimes.
The server needs some management to go cleanly in/out of arena though.

Seconded. As no tactics are needed I think alltalk is a must. Not sure about the drunk thing though....... |

Dave and I need to set the arena mode config and include it in the map votes (we also need to discuss the details). If we agree then we can make the changes to have arena maps on one of the servers.
I personally despise arena mode - utter crap, but that doesn't mean that we won't seriously consider it. We did run arena maps a while back and people seemed to tire of them very quickly? Not sure if people can recall?

Yeah, I only want to play for an evening, once on each map for a bit. All talk would be great, as like I said the right settings so everyone who joins can play at once (which was a major turn off when it was released). We'll get board, but can always do it again in a month or whatever  |

I would be up for it, i remember a little while back an admin changed server 1 to an arena because it was late and only a few of us were on and the server actually filled up to about 5v5/6v6 and it seemed like everyone had a good time, takes a different style of play to normal public, and the maps are less played (Dustbowl/Goldrush/Gravel Pit anyone ). |

Yes, that's one reason - I've had enough of that for now, going around to play the same map I played one and a half hours ago after two of the others  variety is good |

An arena configuration will be set for Server 2 - I'll post here when either myself or Dave get round to it. You guys will be able to vote for an arena map in the usual way (however, the map votes will still be random, so you're not guaranteed to see an arena option every time you get to vote). |
