Can't remember how much they were last year...probably more this year but not by much.

If you do go, check what's on tournament wise. The TF2 Final on the Sunday has always been worth attending simply for the crowd and entertainment

Royal Court guests (berath?), did you get your confirmation email? Can you view your reservation on their homepage?

Cause we can't and I'd like to know if they are completely incompetent or just hate austrians.

I thought I got a confirmation e-mail but apparently not. Couldn't see any list of reservations.

Mind you I didn't for the hotel last year either at Telford. Best to ring up and check if you want to confirm (which is what I did last time)

Still wouldn't discount them hating Austrians though

Well, they "remembered" when we called a second time, but failed to send an email again.

I just rang up and booked the room for myself and Doddy at the Royal Court as well. I got a reservation number and they took my card details for the room guarantee so that's good enough for me.

I contacted them asking about what facilities they have for disabled people but got told "we have lots of chairs to sit on", which wasn't exactly cool but whatever.

From my experiences of previous events (at different venues) - you're probably going to be fine in all of the general public areas like the exhibition halls, finals stages etc. but usually the rows of tables for the BYOC ticket holders are pretty close together so not really suitable for someone that needs a wheelchair (it would have be a table on an end-row, for example) - I don't know if you were planning on coming down for just a day?

I don't have a wheelchair. I have chronic pain and I may need to just sit quietly and chill for an hour or need a hand to get back to the train to get home. I should be fine and it's a non issue 95% of the time, but if it goes tits up it can go really tits up and I would need more help than what I got from the people I contacted which was basically "we have wheelchair access", which doesn't explain if they have like ambulance staff on hand like a lot of places do. I wouldn't need rushing to hospital, but if you imagine how well someone with roughly giving birth levels of pain (which lasts like an hour until pills kick in) might deal in a public venue with just random seats to sit on.. yea, not the best idea in the world.

If I can get a ticket on the day, I'm up for coming down (health allowing) and saying hi, and there is a couple of things I'd like to browse and maybe play some tabletop games. But if I need to book a ticket now, I'll consider it and hope things go well.

I think regarding the venue, it may be as well to check out with Ricoh directly to see if there is a first aid room or somewhere similar so you can lie down away from people waiting for pills to kick in whilst we sort out a taxi or a lift or something. We'll know enough people with cars.

I know a little bit about pain that's so bad you can't move until the meds start working or it goes  

Edit: dropped Ricoh an e-mail. We'll see what they say. If they have nothing, I won't be impressed

Thanks Berath, you don't need to chase things up for me though. I don't want to put any one else out, I'm just making inquires so I can figure out whats doable and isn't.
