What we had before the server reset for afk was good. Seems much much longer now? Same for some spawn times?

Also I swear the auto scramble isn't as good as it used to be? Just seems to only kick in now when there is a difference in team numbers or if a team wins within a certain time rather than looking at scores. Maybe just me... but I swear I didn't use to find team balance an issue as often as it as atm.

I found the afk time before short, but I managed and would prefer that to unbalanced teams because of people going afk.

Yeah, I usually try to get a vote scramble.
But hardly anyone bothers to vote even though they whine about the unbalanced teams Wink

If it's really that bad an admin can manually force a scramble vote, including via HLSW.

It certainly does look at scores, I've seen scrambles over the past few days as a result of score difference. I think the scramble conditions have always been set quite leniently so as to avoid unecessary scrambles. It is of course something we can tweak, in the meantime I recommend promising beer or cake in return for people typing "!votescramble".

Ok, just had a little investigation.

The AFK manager plug in is there, and configured sensibly, so not quite sure why it isn't working at the moment.

Gscramble settings are currently almost all at default, except for the scramble mode, which is a score/connection time ratio rather than completely random.

Current scramble criteria as far as I can tell are:

- Team frag ratio of 2.0 or greater on round win
- Team never captures in KotH
- Team wins in less than 2 minutes
- Average team score difference of 10 or greater

I may have missed some cvars while browsing the config file, there are several dozen of them!

I remember various scrambles taking place based on all those criteria.

It may be as said, that the imbalances are not quite bad enough to enforce the autoscramble, but subjectively still make the gameplay feel wrong.  Maybe we should take a note when autoscrambles take place to see if anything needs tweaking, and apart from that just go for a manual vote.

We could also fall back to the old-fashioned way of swapping to the opposite team if the teams aren't balanced.

(I don't do this because me swapping doesn't really help anyone unless I want to handicap the stronger team!)

It's definitely not working the way it used to. I've just sat afk for 10 minutes and it didn't do a thing, which mirrors what I was seeing on the server recently with some of the quickplay joiners just sitting in spawn.

Does this plugin also not handle people who have yet to actually join a team? I know I came running for you before as there was a guy who'd been afk for 10 minutes, then after map change stayed in limbo for about 40 minutes.

I know he sensed you coming! Wink

With the scramble I have felt that it seemed a bit hit and miss. Some maps it would kick in as expected, others not at all and you would see one team have double or triple the others points.

I think though that it is made worse by the fact we change on 3 rounds (I like this so not saying change). Guessing the mod was based on a full 30min so gives it time to even it up. But it does mean if the teams are stacked one way the map ends in under 10min and not much fun for the losing side.

Also I think its been made worse by auto join meaning we are getting a lot of 'new' players who tend to not have a clue whats going (again i much prefer a full server so not saying change). If a team has 4 or 5 regulars it will win. Plus seeing it a lot where you have 2 or 3 players on each side with a huge score difference to the rest of their teams. Would guess that makes the average score application hard to apply.

I made sure the AFK manager was up to date last night, not sure it was previously loading correctly.

Expected behaviour is to move AFK players to spectate after one minute, assuming the serve has a population of at least four. AFK players should then be kicked after three minutes, assuming a population of 18.
