virgin have almost always been rubbish whereever i've lived. I wasn't able to join be a few years ago because the local exchange was overcrowded but i've not had any problems like that since joining. Hopefully thats all behind them.

I so nearly went with BE, but since I have an O2 mobile, O2 offered me 6 months free internet, which BE couldn't match.  The only limit is the download cap, which is 250gig a month on my package.  I've never come close to that.

I had Be 9 years ago, they were amazing then (but then again so were plusnet initially)

From my limited cable knowledge Cable is so slow because of the conention ratio, they put 1000000 people on the same line, so in theory the line can handle it, but when everyone is on at once... game over.

I heard a great story the other day, of Virgin student packages.... the cancellation was £150.  To cancel for free you had to just not use the service for 6 months... not one packet.  So pay £150, or 6 times £30... nice.   Ass holes
