sadly no they are in the nether as natural spawns, they are not part of the animal breeding update. Although I hope he adds mob breeding at some point.

prerelease 2 out today, guess 1.9 is next week. *Ghasts shoot magma bombs.  Ender Pearls will have a unique ability.[7] When thrown, the player will teleport to the Ender Pearl's impact location, but take 5 points of fall damage. This will not work in Creative.[8] :O |

they go for swims and die. Brahms consider if you are on an expedition with adequate food, you have health regen, 5 damage is nothing.

Yeah I don't seem to have seen the teleporting thing yet either. Iv'e literally targetted them 6 yards away and nothing.
Resumed work on the hawtress, still undecided about how big it should be, getting somewhat bored of farming cobblestone.

You should just get a mine on the go for diamond and you get loads from that. Plus all the ores you find are a bonus (i seem to find far more since 1.  |

Already done, already joined every single chamber to gather the stone, already doubled the size of that diamond mine and joined them up for the stone, already started a second mine and done EXACTLY the same... You seen the size of the Hawtress?  |

Nope, I'm still hiding in a hole in the ground. But I expect to be able to see this construction of yours from orbit. Well every now and then I log on to carry on with segments of the walls. Ultimately it will have a moat surrounding the entire complex, with a bridge which rises from the bottom when you press the lever. Inside will be every childhood dream ever imagined. |
