Is there any way to make a new map after going out of the one from spawn?. I have tried but end up with map 0 every time. might be something I'm doing wrong.

it used to make new maps but i guess notch broke it while attempting to fix maps and then gave up and did something else like make a cow with mushrooms on it...

I don't know, there was a "completeness" to a lot of features previously. I feel the addition of the nether was where the rot really sat in and nothing ever got done. Though as far as I can tell, maps still work in SP? Anyone confirm?

powered mine carts have been broken forevers sadly yet another feature that languishes in its uselessness. Try doing some cool stuff with powered rails in the meantime. You can automate with redstone track switching systems.

It's basically faster to push carts than to use a powered minecart, especially if any hill larger than a slight bump is involved. Overpriced powered rails are the only way to go since they removed bumpers, sadly.
