the ballot is deliberately misworded and confusing, I want to vote yes to changing but no to AV. Yet if i vote no i get associated with assholes (PC edit many no voters are not assholes but the populist no campaign using dead babies is full of assholes) and the government uses my no vote as an excuse not to change fptp. If I vote yes they use the change to AV as an excuse to not introduce full PR. MEH

I did indeed vote. And the people manning the poling station are going a little stir crazy. Apparently they had kept themselves sane by playing "eye spy" for 2 hours. They had also tried to get people to "high 5" them. And there had been a bit of success in getting a "Mexican wave" going. So my presence didn't help them much with finding reality Smiley

Low turnout is apparently an issue nationwide. Only thing giving hope to the AV referendum after the apparent success of the 'NO' FUD.

@Disco
I too would rather have proper PR than AV, but AV is certainly better than FPTP. And change begets change, if AV can give the LD and other small parties who get screwed by FPTP more representation/power, they might eventually be able to force through a referendum on PR.
If 'No' succeeds we'll never get rid of FPTP.
