After being beheaded more times than I care to count I finally landed the killing blow on Horseless Headless Horseman and am now the proud owner of some Haunted Metal Scrap. Life is full of problems - what do I do with the scrap?  - Craft a hat
- Craft an Unusual Horseless Headless Horseman's Headtaker
- Wrap it in giftpaper and exchange
- Leave it in my backpack and gaze at it
I favour the UH 4 since it can only be crafted and not purchased. Advice? |

In terms of value you can buy the hats but you can only craft the axe. This was fun the first few times but its really wearing thin now  |

Start a private server, whack "sv_cheats 1; noclip; hurtme -9999999; bot; tf_halloween_force_boss_spawn; sv_cheats 0" into the console, kill headless asshole with your spade, get metal. Worked first time for me. |

Yup valve reducing us to grinding ..... I got it on a normal server Go scout, equip mellee weapon, go arround "behind" the horseman whacking the carp out of him. All you have to do is be one of the players who helps land the last 500 hp (ish) of blows on him. As long as you are not IT he will generally ignore you and as a scout you are quick enough to run away if you become it (go high and jump down as he can not jump) NB it helps to be on RED nnb no one will mind you being melle only they will be to busy trying to find the gift or trading |

It just seems like a really stupid challenge to have to melee him. Trying to melee him is basically a death sentance. I could deal with a grind challenge or something, but something like meleeing him, which seems to rely heavily on class selection and straight up random chance is a really dumb way to distribute a unique item that we'll never be able to get again.

I could not agree more. If you melle him then die as long as his health is low enough you will get the achieve. The true health / achievment indicator is that he shivers just before he dies a quick whack at that point will get you the achievement dead or alive. |
