I thought I'd set up a separate thread for our Minecraft server where we can say if the server is down (time and date please), discuss our projects, server mods and post pics for those poor unfortunate souls who have never bought the game and have never experienced 50 crashes in a hour Edit: Also discuss resetting the server after the Halloween patch ....and, yes the server is down 11:20 06/10/10, why else would I be posting this  . Also stop making minecarts people, or if you have some near spawn can you show us where so we can blow them up they cause crashes. And mine cart tracks cause memory leaks, apparently fire also. So please don't build anymore tracks for now, and stop torching all the trees.

I bet you can run several server instances in parallel on different ports. Also I think I read that some 3rd party servers support parallel worlds.
On the subject of scarcity and danger: Invuln is cool if we just want to build stuff -- if the majority wants just that I'm cool with it (it's been fun so far). I myself would fancy the necessity of eating a steak or a loaf of bread once in a while, all the while having do defend my magnificent home from monstery types, though.

i don't think b means like stuff is super rare. Just like we won't have so much because of needing to eat and fend off monsters, and tools actually wearing down. All i can think of to do with redstone is decimal counters and iuno what i could time off of those, i suppose could make like a cart race thing that lights up a series of redstone torches and then starts the carts off . |

I just mean we won't have so much because people won't have hacked a tonne of diamond/gold/tnt into the game.
Plus really, the monsters aren't very scary if you've already built a massive house and have diamond everything. I think starting from scratch would suit any new people coming to the server and be more fun overall.

they're on the to do list, dragons that you can end up riding, big things for mp etc. And the halloween notes do say monsters that are actually scary so there must be some better mobs capable of raiding forts.
